How will you make your decision?
So from the looks of it people based on their backrounds or personal opinion like either the BRZ or the FR-S. When the time comes for these cars to be actually released do you think you will test drive both first even though you initally have a preference? Or will you just stick to your guns and get what you wanted initially?

I'll probably make my choice based on option combinations and price. I prefer the look of the Toyota/Scion, but if I can get the options I want for the price I want to pay at a Subaru dealer, I'll go with the BRZ. I own a Mini and a Miata, so I have no particular loyalty to Subaru or Toyota/Scion.

It will ultimately come down to how the FRS looks and price for me. Along with how each car feels when driving it.

I would like to see it in person, but for me personally financial isn't a big problem. Even if I don't have the funding I don't mind loaning form something I really want, it's also about the community as well. But honestly I would have to test drive both and probably will because I have friends that looks to say" get opposite of what I get" so If I have an FRS they'll have a BRZ if I have a BRZ they'll have an FRS, it's pretty trivial.
Likely I will stick to my initial wants and get that.

Why the hell would you need to test drive two cars that are exactly the same when it comes down to the chassis and powertrain?

Which interior looks/feels nicer in person, same with the exterior differences, pricing, options, whether or not there are any differences like the rumored suspension stuff and availability.
I'd lean towards the Subaru just so I can haggle instead of the pure price notion and because of associations with some people at the good local Subaru dealer.

True, but they are still subtle differences. Personally my decision wouldn't come down to HOW the car drives but how I feel when driving it. I think seeing the car in person makes a big difference as well.

My decision is based on color choice, price, standard features, and optional feature.

At this point, it is about price for me. We know roughly everything about the car at this point, so the big "bang" I'm waiting for is the price, and what options come with said "price".

For me:
1. How each car drives, dependent on throttle mapping and suspension. 2. Price/option packages... whichever make gives me the options I want at the price I want. 3. Color options I am leaning towards the Subie at the moment. The pointy nose of the Toyota makes it look like it has a long front overhang, which is driving me a bit crazy. |

I'm just gonna go with my gut, you have more nerve endings in your gut that anywhere else, and you won't find that in a book.
