Not working... well I'll make it work

So yesterday, I got FHI front CF strut tower bar and installed it in my car. I noticed in 1st & 2nd gear a noise from my car (under the hood). When I get home, I checked and noticed that my AEM intake was rubbing against that strut.
Here's the pic

so what do I do? Hacksaw <5mm of the intake

Now it fit without rubbing! That AEM intake cost me $50 vs $120 CF strut bar.

Nice Rogue Status gloves Ichi. Oh and that's the first CF strut tower bar I've ever seen. Didn't even realize CF could be used for stuff like that. Just goes to show how much I know about this kinda stuff.

Ah, that's what I figured! As long as it works now, you're good to go.

You know how the saying goes, F.I is the replacement for displacement!

If it's a good deal, I say do it. If it was in CA, I wouldn't recommend it b/c of the hassle with smog tests and what not.

Yeah, that's one part, I'm happy that I don't live in CA. CA is so picky on smog tests. Here isn't to bad, but CA is hell when it comes to smog tests.

iirc one of subie swap shop in Orange County do smog tests pass swap... but they cost arm & leg for the swap

Nah, the tubes themselves are straight up CF. Those cast aluminum junctions have cylindrical nubs on them that are slipped inside the CF tubes and bonded to them with fancy adhesives.

I was gonna say that it seems pretty ridiculous to have aluminum covered in CF just for the looks, but I guess faux CF has an appeal to some people.
