Yes and it's bothered me enough that I'm finally going to get on the ground and look at it. Has anyone had it fixed at the dealer yet? I'd rather avoid using bar tape, as my fellow cyclist above did

Thanks
Brett

Same here. Mine is pretty loose, but not sure how to remove, or tighten?

It removes with two long Christmas type fasteners. One in the top one in the bottom. You could order two new ones, but short of that, there is no way to tighten. The dead pedal is molded into the carpet. It may be tough to replace.

An aftermarket pedal could be fit. It would require drilling the underlying metal bracket which is welded to the floor.

I had this issue and the dealer found the problem. The deadpedal uses clips and mine were worn out after only 11k kms. If your deadpedal is making noise or feels loose have the dealer check it out!

If it's any consolation, my dead pedal pops too (BRZ) -- kind of an "oil-canning" sound.

I'm curious what's making the noise but I'm not sure I'm willing to ask the dealer to look into it during the first service. When dealers take apart the interior to any extent, bad things can happen...

I just noticed this last weekend! But its only if I step on it fairly hard, like picking my butt up off the seat to stretch and putting my weight on the dead pedal.

Hmmm, going to have to see if I have some bar tape around!

Yes especially with pressure at top part. Was going to take a look at it this weekend.

Bump. Anyone find any fixes other than bar tape? Does ordering new christmas trees actually fix the issue?

Dead Pedal came to life after about a year (crunch crunch crunch), went away a year later(dirt perhaps), then came back in the 3rd year, then a Weathertek mat, (silence).
I was gonna put some silicone or such under it, but the mat worked - no movement that is noticable to me.
