I got 50 K on my first set that came with both my current FRS and first FRS when I got them new and even then it never felt as though I was driving on ice but admittedly we have great road conditions over here..

I've gotten 18k miles on 200tw "extreme performance" tires on my S2000 without rotating (staggered sizes). It's easy to do if it's 99.9% commuting miles if alignment is in order (minimized toe).

Side note: I have heard exactly one person (during my very short lived Motive Power Technician* Apprenticeship) that said switching tires left to right was bad for the bands. Now, he was the head of a major (local) construction company, so maybe it applies more to big ass dump trucks and/or legit load bearing F350's? Either way, I've brought it up with other car and mechanic-type people and they've all scratched their heads. Not all just younger guys, either. * Why my college refused to just put "MECHANIC" on the certificate I'll never know. Motive Power Tech probably just sounds more fancy and "college-ly". |

FRS manual seems to differ from the BRZ one... mine shows crossing tires. I doubt it matters that much then.
Mine get rotated every time I switch between summer and winter setups. So twice a year. 45k on my winters and 30k on my summers and they are all wearing evenly. |

1-0 1-0
1-1 2-1 2-1 2-2 3-2 3-2 3-3 There is nothing wrong with waiting to rotate. you end at the same result while paying for less rotates. I hope my "diagram" makes some sense.

when i am ready for fresh meat, the car goes up on stands. i remove the stick on weights and clean the rims.
there is a nice shop in knoxville that has the newest hunter 'road force' balancing machine. the heavy wheels on the slower cars are dynamically balanced to avoid the castor shimmy and zoom-zoom cars are statically balanced with the weights inline with the hub mating surface. the place is a little expensive but they do line up the dot on the tire to the stem and don't scratch your junk. rotations are every few thousand and strictly front to rear. the rear tires get inside wear and the fronts get outside wear so it is really fun to drive after a rotation. i slip and slide but avoid spinning. about 10k miles of fun on 50k tires. |

I personally do the full front to back opposite side, back to front same side rotation with one exception - if I have directional tires.
Some tires have an "inside" and "outside", and some tires ALSO have a direction of travel and changing sides will have them turning opposite that direction which can affect water dispersal and the like. But to the original question: I get what you're saying but I don't think it's going to make a huge difference in the overall life of any given tire. |

Bruh just put the back on da front and the front on da back.
My last braincell thinks this discussion is lame if it does not pertain to hyper miling.

I only "rotate" when I'm changing between winters and summers. The least worn go on the back, and the most worn go on the front.
