not that i dont trust you personally, it's just that it's not like a k&n filter is as tightly woven as a regular cotton one, it relies on the oil to attract dirt and other crap and keep it suspended in the filter.

Smaller batter should be fine, just don't leave the car in accessory position for long amounts of time or put a subwoofer in it. The OEM Audio + system in mine has drained the stock battery before.

A dry K&N will do a great job of keeping rocks and some twigs out of the intake, but not much else. I wouldn't run one dry on any engine I planned to keep. I'm skeptical of using them wet.

I ran a Shorai on my car for two years without issue, the last 18 months were with an Edelbrock. Only took it off during ski season when the car would sit outside all day in zero temps. Sold the car and still have the battery.

Thanks. I got the 11lb Braille 14115. Also going to keep it on a battery tender when not driving. I'll report back after some use to let you all know how it goes.
Am curious if people have thought much about weight reduction specifically for this kit. For autocross it's tough, since the easy weight reduction (trunk junk, spare tire, etc. is all in the rear of the car, moving the weight forward. This kit makes it even worse with so much weight added in the engine bay (supercharger, oil cooler, catch cans, etc. Need to think of creative ways to take weight off the front of the car to make it more balanced. Besides the battery, the obvious thing is using no windshield washer fluid (7 lbs). I think there are some lighter weight brackets made by Verus as well. |

The kit has you leave off the driver side fuel injector cover, I made a bracket for the passenger side to mount the ECU to that was aluminum to get rid of the passenger side. Those things are stupidly heavy. Not much else under the engine bay. 2 piece brake rotors, aluminum 4-pot calipers of your choosing (and those things are unsprung weight which is nice).

Is there a part number out there for an actual dry filter for our intake? Lost a maf to this damn thing, sick of fighting with it.
I have not had any luck getting info out of edelbrock. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Edelbrock/Comp Cams Merger
So the first shoe drops...
In the interest of reducing overlap (or perhaps avoiding California taxes), Edelbrock is closing its Los Angeles headquarters...

Dang! That's too bad for SoCal residents. One of the reasons I went with the Edelbrock was that they were local to me, and I went on a tour of their facility. Gave me a better feeling about purchasing something if the manufacturer is a few miles away vs. across the country.

Just wanted to point out I've got two of these remote MAP adapters left before I'm out for good.
