8" lift enough for GearBox/Diff oil change ?
Hi,
I hope to change my own Manual GearBox & Diff oil. Is 8" of lift adequate for access to the Fill/Drain plug ? My drive way is slightly off, Front & Rear axle may have an inch of height differences, Will that be a concern as well. I'm small build & BRZ is stock. Thanks |

I reckon the 1" height difference of 1" isn't going to make a significant difference. |

I myself have been wondering about this and even though the slope on mine is minimal, the idea makes me incredibly uncomfortable. I only lift front or back on my driveway. |

I thought he was more concerned with having enough space under the car to do the work and whether or not the height difference would make a significant difference in the fluid levels. Back in the day, the jack stands (concrete blocks and pieces of 4"x4"), were less of a concern than the jacks we used. (ask ol @Tcoat how many times he had a car slip off one of those jacks) - |

Seriously, save the money and buy a QuickJack. Best money I spent on tools.

Thanks for all the inputs.
I'm thinking to custom make 4pcs of Ramp (8") from High Impact Foam. They are really light & i suppose they are easier to work with than wood. Of course will also have another safety backup. |
