Both interior views are of the manual version, while the close up of the shift knob is of the automatic version.
I'm all about that interior! That stitching and the white faced tach is sick! Even the automatic knob looks better than the manual shift knob.

If the Scion and Toyota versions look exactly the same, this will not only take Scion out of the negative shadow that haunts it's past but offer a really good car at a really good price (if the 22K is true).

Does that shifter look too close to the HVAC controls? I've driven some cars that had the shifter too far forward and squeezed my ham-fisted fingers in there. Also, when in say 3rd gear, the controls may be hard to access behind the shifter. Can't tell exact depth from the pics.

My NA Miata has the radio controls hidden behind the shifter. You gotta do the ol reach-around to change presets.

Cup holders look ok - too early to tell if they will interfere with my elbows. On my Miata, the cup holders are right behind the shifter - requiring you to reach over even a small can to shift. Pretty much impractical, but I use them when needed.

Looking at the interior, I can see how Subaru might upgrade theirs to charge more over the Scion version.

For those new to this car, don't expect huge differences in power between the Subaru and Scion versions. All this talk of 200 vs "less than 300" is a bunch of BS until we get details from Subaru next month. Anyone who has modified NA cars knows intake, exhaust, and timing changes can get you 25hp, maybe. When you have a turbo to tweak, that's when you can increase boost and get bigger gains. No turbo here.

I'm very excited about this car! Would love to see more - back seat, and how this can hold a set of track tires. November 30th is a big wait - but nit compared to May 2012 when we can actually get our hands on one to own! That's a long 7 months away!

I love how the auto is shorter or sunken into the boot a lot more.

Yeah same there! I wish the manual had the push-down-throw-far-left for reverse instead of pulling up on the ring.

I'm not a fan of the side molding but I'll can almost bet it'll be on the JDM Toyotas. Eventually it'll become part of the US conversion with Scion saying my car is JDM because I put the side moulding on!

I love how driver focused the interior looks, and those seats look mighty comfy! Would agree with the general consensus of a darker cluster though!

Amen!

Waking up with so many new infos, I'm totally digging the interior cluster! :happy0180: There is something I don't like about the headlight portion of the car, but it could just be the color not bringing out enough contrast.

Not quite sure if you're referring to me? I did not say anything about wanting buttons on the steering wheel? I like the Ft-86 interior, the steering wheel just looks bulky to me I think something like an s2000 or type-r style steering wheel would suit better but I'm not gonna complain, they just need to make the damn thing so I can finally stop waiting. I do love the gauges on this thing though!

BTW according to Autotrader, I looked up under "New Model Showcase" and it says the Scion FR-S will be released April 2012 as the 2013 Scion FR-S (obviously lol :P)

Edit: link - http://www.autotrader.com/research/newmodel/index.jsp

Its the one second to last on the right side or just hit Ctrl + F

Looks good so far. I just hope the steering wheel tilts and telescopes, because at 6'2, if it doesn't, I won't have enough leg room and will have to mark it off my list.

love the interior and the fact that they are keeping the centered tachometer. TAS needs to get here, and now!

Dammit! right when i convince my self to keep the car i have now and just mod it these pictures come out. Well looks like I'm back on the FRS/BRZ wagon again.
There are somethings i personally don't like but can live with:
* Mismatch vents
*Steering wheel
*No pictures of back seats

On another note i hope the arm rest goes all the way back, and there is enough room to fit a 4 channel amp under the front passenger seat.

That's what a tilt steering wheel is for. Or just hope the seats sit low enough so you are sitting more legs stretched out than sitting like your in a wheel chair.
