I live in Maryland and currently have a Subie Impreza. I've got my eye on the BRZ, but not sure about losing the all wheel drive, and I hear it needs winter and summer tires. Any advise? Anyone miss the all wheel drive? Anyone have all weather tires?

Hey. I've never owned an Impreza but I did go from a 4x4 Ram to the Brz. She doesn't handle well in the snow so I don't drive it. There are guys that love how it handles in the snow and a good set of winter tires will be needed. It will be personal preference, I've thought about getting a wrx just for the AWD during the winter.

I came from a Jeep and my wife's car is AWD (Subaru XV Crosstrek).
I drove mine all last winter, through every snow storm (lived in NJ), without snow tires.. without issue. Starting is a little slow and up hills is a little sideways, but nothing unmanageable. As long as you understand the cars limits and don't drive like an ass you should be fine.
