I keep my cars till they either get stolen or the rust finally gets them in the long run.
I also have a tendency to keep cars a long time. I've had a half dozen or more cars that went well over 200K miles. My last vehicle was 280K before it decided to eat it's motor bearings.

The 86 is starting to show some signs of aging. The hood is covered in white speckles where the red paint has chipped, and it definitely makes a lot more groans and moans than it used to. It also needs new struts. Other than that it runs as good as the first day I drove it.

It would have to have a catastrophic failure for me to get rid of it at this point. It has no real value as a trade-in. I am looking to replace it as my daily eventually, and have an order for a Cadillac LYRIQ, but that is slow going. I've been #1 for an allocation at my dealer now for almost 2 months, original order placed in May, 2022!

990200 yesterday. Still works fine. Got new Continentals for it two weeks ago.
Developed a squeak in the clutch pedal assembly.
I spent an hour or so playing contortionist spraying down everything I could get to with teflon.
Was still squeaking and I gave up, sweating, sore and out of sorts.
Yesterday it wasn't squeaking anymore. Apparently seeped into the part making noise overnight.

Last vehicle was a '95 Dodge Grand Caravan. Drove that for 19 years before the FR-S.
Keeping up with basic maintenance helps, along with very little municipal salt on the roads.
Not crashing is a big plus too.

It's from a company called flossy. Picked it up cheap from somebody local parting out.

I also got a 86 sweater shifter sock from my mother for a birthday gift. Will need to get a photo of it

There are vertical brake lights in the lower bumper but there are also horizontal brake lights that run just below the glass in the liftgate and around the left and right sides of the LYRIQ. There is also the "3rd" brake light that sits on top of the liftgate air dam.

Cars been dropped off for hail damage PDR work. Was told "3* days" which means 3 days work and I lose the car for 2-3 weeks for whatever reason.

They're likely to scratch stuff up so insurance said they'd pay to have the car(me) recoated.

I hope they used OEM scratches rather than aftermarket ones.
