Got my doubts about this thing.
If I understand correctly :this thing costs roughly 1500$ in the States, and it's basically a few motorcycle batteries ductaped together that power a 24V fan.

If your engine runs lean because of this and/or your engine goes in detonation ...

A true supercharger or compressor requires several kW of input power (coming from exhaust gases or from the crankshaft or from whatever), cooling capacity increases, intercooling of a kind, compression ratio reduction or water misting into the intake for detonation control, etc etc . Hence you're looking at kits of 5k€ and more (as often you also need to change exhaust system from front to back, and some dyno tuning, ...)

And this simple 24V fan makes you gain 20% on top of the 200 stock HP ?
Anybody out here has one of those things fitted to his/her car already?

Just read the thread all your answers are there.. it's not your typical ebay fancharger...

So, earlier this month I took part in the Scuderia Hanseat at the Nürburgring. Pretty neat if you ask me.

Here is a quick video edit to get a feel of the atmosphere (and cars) of the event!

And, if you've got 12 minutes to waste, a full lap of the VLN course (GP + Nordschleife).

Nice footage Guillaume!

Did you fit a skeletoncover or a windcutter to your GoPro?
I think this would be a great addition to the soundtrack.

Thanks! It's just the skeleton door, no mic cover. But I might look into that because that wind is really frustrating indeed.

Hey guys! While studying today a random idea popped into my mind, would anyone be interested in maybe organizing a little Toyota GT86 / Subaru BRZ meet in belgium somewhere in the first 2 weeks of July this summer?
I'd love to see what you guys have done to your cars, even if it's not much (mine is practically bone stock), it just seems like fun I don't know if it would have to be official but i guess not since i don't think there are that many twin-drivers here in Belgium, let alone people who are interested in modding the car :p

Well, i'm not an old fart... at all! i'm 20 so probably a pretty young fart
I'm definitly in for a casual little meet if it's between 4th (exhaust day) & 15th (shopping for tomorrowland) of july!
We don't have to be many, i mean, there's probably not even that many "tuning fans" w/ an 86 here anyways, but whoevers interested, just post it up and we'll see if we can find a central spot that's suitable for all of us (industrieterrein of grote afgelegen parking fzo)

Grtz

Hey why not? Although, I am getting the distinct feeling I'd be the only non-flemish attendee and my dutch is far from fluent.

For what it's worth, I intend to go to the Nordschleife on the 14th on June and then on the 13th of July (subject to cancellation in case of wet weather). That could be a good meeting point.

PS: 26 here.

Where I live (Waasland) there are 6 or 7 GT/BRZ's I know off (in a radius of 30km) and only saw one elderly (50+) couple and they were even driving it like they stole it.
The rest is all between 20 and 35 years old.
Most of them has been modified or the owners plan on modding them.

edit:

As far as I see it you are indeed the only non-flemish guy here, you are also the only one who does regular track days

Any GT86 owners from Belgium?

Yeah most of the french speaking crowd hangs out on the french forum instead.
