Much the same as now only manually instead of electronic.
The difference is that in the old days it took a few minutes to screw things up, now days, it can be done instantly with just a few keystrokes.

None of this single points crap
Well, maybe so, but back in my day (before OHV V-8s) and engines running less that 4,000 rpm, a single set of points gave the coil plenty of time to come back up to speed.

However, back then, if one had an alcohol fueled flathead Ford V-8, they could fire it up with a coil and distributor from a Lincoln V-12, to get some extra spark kick.

Sometimes that only worked "once" per engine -

Yep. many ah time when I would get stumped, I'd drive the truck into town to my uncles Chevrolet dealership, buy a bottle of coke with a nickel, go back in the shop, give the coke to a mechanic and ask him my question. I could get more information than I really needed for 5 cents -

I have smoked a few cigars. 4? 5? Always when I've been drunk and once at the end of a meal at a Michelin 3 Star restaurant*. It was never the case that I enjoyed the cigar per se, but the fact that I was having a cigar.

*That meal will never be topped. It has been elevated in my memory so high reality could never match it again. I still have the bill from that evening.

I know you have this thing for Chrysler but they have been doing just fine for a long time now. Yes like the rest of the big three they suffered a bit in the 80s but they got over that.
The minivans dominated the market for decades, they have had the second best selling vehicle in North America for almost 10 years and they turned a tidy profit for Stellantis even in the mess of 2021.
Even the EV end of things they have been chosen to lead the charge with massive investment in infrastructure announced last month.
It is the total opposite of the rumours you have heard.

Wait... Am I reading that right? Monday, September 10th, 2001? That must have been a roller coaster.

Also, that's some expensive water...

It’s in French francs though. Looking up historical exchange rates that like 1700-1800usd.

I live a very sheltered life. The most I ever ate in one sitting was $50 worth of Wendy's.

It was a mix of baconators, spicy chicken sandwiches, and chili. I had a standard $50 Wendy's order for a couple years. Then my cholesterol report came out and I stopped.
