The "kit" is not available yet, I am buying parts transmission, engine, clutch. Disassembling my car, and selling things I don't need to get a jump on things. When the kit is available the car will be prepped, and I will have the parts the kit will not include.

I'm just waiting for a quote on off the shelf parts and the materials and time for the fabrication of the custom parts.

I thought they already had the parts fabricated to make the motor and transmission fit the frs included in the kit... why is there more fabrication of custom parts having to be made. Are u going with a different transmission than the alpha car?

From what I recall in this thread, they still need a car to do fitment for the front sway bar and still have can bus work to figure out.

Yeah, I completely forgot about the swaybar. But the can bus is out of their hands. But it looks like the canbus is close to being figured out.

They have not done a production run on parts as of yet. Yes the parts are developed, but they are not going to produce the parts for the kit until a few things are finalized. I will be using the same transmission that is in the alpha car. And I will be buying the kit if it is available after the first of the year. If not I will build my own mounts and various other parts needed. I was assured they are moving forward with the kit. I believe paying customers with cash in hand would take priority over development of a product that may make money sometime in the future. After all you go into business to make money not make my dreams come true.

@modernbeat I sent you an email asking the same question if you could respond here it might help more people interested in the kit in development. l ordered the transmission from your shop for the frs ls swap ,and was wondering what parts I could start acquiring that are not going to be in the kit or can opt out of purchasing with the kit. Cooling system parts, fuel system parts, LS engine wire harness not sure if the vorshlag one will be custom,GM ecu. gas pedal assembly. Any information would help me get my car prepped as much as I can before I purchase the kit, and would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

I contacted Vorshlag on Instagram, and they said that these swap parts are being worked on in their spare time; their priorities are the LS Miata and Camaro (and a few others) that they have in the shop right now.

I have a genuine question. Are you expecting to buy these parts, then just throw the powertrain/drivetrain in the car?

I have a serious concern that you're grossly unprepared for a swap.

I like to have as much info as possible. The good thing is I am not concerned at all. Otherwise I wouldn't have pulled and sold the engine, transmission, and other miscellaneous parts I won't be needing. I love being underestimated. I don't expect things to go perfectly smooth. If need be I can make what I need if I have to and find solutions to unforeseen issues that may arise. Problem solving, design, fabrication repair are part of my career. I can weld tig , mig, ark, electrical troubleshoot issues, use a mill or a lathe. It's all going to be alright don't you worry.

The reply I received from Jason @ Vorshlag good info and much appreciated. I figured i should post it up for people looking to acquire parts for this swap.
Christopher, we will be making the clutch throwout bearing, lines and master cylinder, but have not done it yet.

The gas pedal will need to match whatever the electrical solution requires.

For hood clearance you will need a non-EGR intake manifold that matches the heads on the engine, either rectangle or cathedral port.

For the radiator, we used a heavy-duty, all aluminum radiator built for the FRS and made the coolant lines match the engine and radiator.

The engine wiring harness will need to match your engine, crank position sensor, coils and whatever the electrical solution requires.

You will need a GTO LS2 front-sump oil pan and oil pickup.

We used a huge mix of parts for the accessory drive, including a couple custom parts. We will try to make it easier to buy and let folks know what the mix is once we are happy with the "custom" part of the setup.
