Need advise in advance
Ok guys I just ordered the ft86 catted header and OFT. I already have the Perrin 2.5 resonated cat back.
I've done some reading but I'm still rather confused. Ive owned Cobb tuners for my WRX and STI. This seems similar but I read some clarifications. I know the ft86 catted header is made for the stock exhaust and if you want the greatest chance in avoiding a CEL you must keep the stock exhaust. Well I run the Perrin 2.5 catted. This is why I bought the OFT, but come to find out the tunes that come with it for a catted header won't stop a CEL. So I must go in and turn off the O2 sensor reading that will throw the code. Is this true? So when I get the OFT is the tune already on the device or do I need to download software and get the tunes from there? Also if I do have to turn off the O2 sensor reading where is that done? On the computer downloaded to the OFT device or on the device directly hooked up to my car? |

Ok read it. Doesn't really address my questions. Just tells me I might need a tune, but but not the procedure. Unless I missed something.

OFT come with preload tunes. Since you have catted uel, need to flash the ecu with stg 1 uel. The tunes itself will turn off cel for cat efficiency (even catted header can throw cel). Idk if that is the answer of your question or i misread

Very easy to mod the stage1 tunes to disable cel just change the P0420 cel code to off in romraider.
Alternativly just use the oft stage 2 tune it will be fine with 93 fuel The new oft v3 tunes are specificly done for the ft86 sPeedfactory catted header should be released soon, or contact the oft guys they may send you the specific ft86 speedfactory catted header tune |

Thanks guys. This does help. I've seen a post with a screenshot where they show the dialogue box where you turn off the P0420. Is this the romraider you speak of? Is that done on the PC somehow and then downloaded to the OFT? I guess it's a moot point if the OFT files that come with the OFT already have this option done, correct?

Whao! Wait, I did NOT know that! The FT86speedfactory site says for 2013+, where is the disclaimer for that, because I did not see this. If that is true I need to cancel the whole order! EDIT: I had to cancel my order looks like there are only Beta versions out, and I do not want to be a test mule. Oh well. I can wait I suppose. ECUtek has updated their RaceROM recently so that all the features work on the US cars and they've had the MY17 ROMs have been available and well defined for a while now.
