I'd sum up my biggest waste of money in one word: "youth".

Seemed like a good idea at the time though!

I'd say about half my car mods have been worth it, I've gotten an incredible amount of satisfaction and enjoyment from my car so that's money well spent, but there's a few thousand bucks I do regret, they come with lessons though so it wasn't a total waste. None of them were pointless though (like an antenna or intake)

No if there's anything I regret it's wasted time, time I could have spent working out instead of laying on the couch getting fat, or looking for a higher paying job, or learning about car setup so I can be at least semi-competitive autocrossing, or writing, or playing/writing music. You need some time to decompress every day, but not 2-3 hours of nothing, I really need to cut down on that wasted time.

Oh the irony! Although this can be time well spent as well.

80% of my time on here is while waiting for slow computers to finish processing my work. The other 20% has been rather educational. The forum moves slow enough that I don't need to spend hours checking it every night as you well know, maybe an hour spent looking at it throughout the day max.

I bought a Lenovo Ultrabook ideapad Intel i7 core laptop so I would have an HDMI output for my 23 inch monitor that I could read forums on.
After about a year (no more factory support) the HDMI port quit working. FML.

Still it has a 15 inch screen, but wtf. <trump>Sad</trump>

I wish I had wasted more money instead of time to save money. Money kept coming but time will never come back.

A POS Miata that keeps breaking faster than I can fix it. I bought it to enjoy at autocross a year and a half ago. Haven't been to one yet because of it being a piece of crap or some other conflict like work or other commitments. I could have had a much nicer one by now that actually works if I had just spent a grand or two more up front. It will still serve its purpose of being a cheap and disposable toy to learn on but after about a season, I'm ditching it in favor of the 86, and losing my ass on it in the process.

Only if it was cheap whiskey. Otherwise that's never a waste

Even cheap stuff isn't a waste at the time you are consuming it.
