Car sitting at dealership-does this matter?
So the FRSs have been sitting at a couple of local dealerships for a long time ( months). Occaisonally they move them a few yards to make room for other inventory.
This sitting and then only being driven on a test drive or for repositioning at the dealership-does that bother you guys if u were to purchase? Am i worrying bout nothing? Thanks! |

Nope, the longer they sit the lower the price.

They make them. They sit. They ship to port. They sit. They go to dealer. They sit.
Not an issue unless they sit for years of course.

I bought a 2015 FRS lst week of October 2014.
The car had arrived in port (Portland, Or) just a few days prior. The car was assembled in July 2014 And I recently, last week, got an email from a Stealership in San Francisco...$2000. off the MSRP of numerous leftover 2015s on their lot. All cars were silver, black or white...what they had left...colors not selling well I'd guess. Note: my car now has 21,330 miles on the odo. No problems so far. And when I have the oil changed at the Dealership (every 7500 miles), I don't allow them to check the manual trans or rear end fluid levels (no 'preventive maintenance')...if it works, don't mess with it...no leaks means no problem with that area of the car. I have added coolant just once...most likely due to bubbles still in the system from the factory. Last edited by ToySub1946; 08-24-2015 at 11:44 AM. |

The longer they sit the better it is for you! We just got a 2015 Nissan Rogue last night for my wife and they took a little over $3k off (on top of their other offers) because it is a 2015 that had been sitting for months and they are now selling 2016. Little under $28 sticker price out the door after taxes right at $25.
The longer the car sits, the more they will move on the price - especially if you have good credit. Price up a brand new car and get everything worked out - then ask what they will do if you take one of the ones that have been sitting on the lot for months. When they give you a number, ask for another $1000 off or to throw in some TRD stuff. Worst they can do is say no and you can take the brand new car or walk away. |

As long as it's not sitting for extended periods of time, the cars should be fine.
