Definitely. Check the maps. Oops typo...wrong place.

Ex-San Diego here...man I miss the beaches and way of life there. Palomar Mtns did provide some un-car related fun times.

Roseville is actually a good short distance away from Tahoe, so lots of good (empty) twisty roads there. Haven't been there for a really long time, but I recall going in a big loop inside this crazy maze of roads between Aurburn and Placerville.

There's a great road just outside of Georgetown. Main St. in Georgetown turns into Wentworth Springs Rd. It's about a 2.5 hour drive with the last 1.5 of it being nice and twisty. Leaves you 23 miles from Tahoe when you hit 50. The road is in pristine condition too. It would be a fun drive with a whole bunch of us.

So going back to our previous survey of what roads people wanted to take... we already did the top 2 choices, Hwy 1 and Woodside/Skyline. Next most popular votes were for Mt. Hamilton and Panoramic Hwy. We already talked about Pano and will probably do that one in a little bit. For this coming Saturday morning does anyone want to do Mt. Hammy then? Cen Cal folks could even meet us at Junction Cafe or the Observatory.

Damn, all this talk about the Tahoe area got me looking around for a route and itching to drive around there again. Mosquito Rd. sticks out in my mind back in the WRX days... Maybe its time to renew that pashnit subscription, I'm open for donations lol

Any interest from Sacramento/Cencal folks? Might be a rough haul for bay area folks but that's what drive junkie do. I'd offer to help organize but considering how far I am from the area, I'd prefer somebody more local to do it.

What's starting point do you have in mind for Mt. Hammy? I've got about 4 hrs. to kill on Sat. morning so I'm down for a quickie through Mines, but probably won't be able to do the entire length.

Thinking start from SJ side. Near that Chevron we stopped at last time we did the recon run up and over, at Capital. 4 hours is plenty to do that route.

I might be down. I have to get to Fremont as I never did get my wheels to powdercoat yet so I could do Mines probably but I have to be back to umpire so wouldnt do all of Mt Hammy. But only if you start from Livermore though.

If people would rather start from Livermore side I am OK with that. I would start another poll on 86DRIVE but people have been teasing me about too many damn polls haha.
If you haven't already, chime in if you prefer Livermore or SJ start.

I'm good either way I think. What time are we looking at? Usual 7am? need to be back to EB by ~10 for an appointment. Mt. Ham via Mines is a long haul, so I may pass depending on the timing .

I'd love to make this drive but I accepted some OT on sat. I'm trying to make extra money so I can add new toys for my ride. Lol

ok, we will start on the SJ side ... sorry finch!

SATURDAY JUNE 1 - 86DRIVE
We will meet at the Starbucks at Capitol Square Mall just past the Chevron station, at 7AM.
Its off the McKee Rd exit on 680.
2707 McKee Rd, San Jose, CA ‎

Route overview:
https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid...55e76226&msa=0

From there we will head to Hwy 130 to Mt. Hamilton and stop at the observatory. Then we'll continue down the other side to the Junction and onwards to Mines/Livermore. Then we'll see what people want to do or split our separate ways.
