Drove to an 86 day event and filled up with 94 octane (rarity here in Cali) on the way home (didn't want to go from 101 octane straight back to 91).

That was the first thing to pop back into place and reattach just to get home. The impact also pushed in the grill so that it was loose and bent the license plate in half. Also, my bumper is cracked and has a hole where the end of the crash beam passenger side is located. It was actually sticking out of the hole. Tore up my under panel pretty good. Luckily no damage that I can see to the radiator. I was able to get the car on jack stands and put the bumper back on after removing what was left of some damaged clips. I'm glad I have extra clips. For most of the front skid plate I was able to drill holes and use zip ties to stitch it back together. Some tabs are broken on the bumper and used some more zip ties there. It could of been worse and I'll probably take it in to have it inspected for more damage. So, at this point, I can replace with an OEM bumper, upgrade to a custom bumper, patch the hole and use rattle can touch up, or just slap a sticker on it and be done. As a daily driver, it has a lot of road rash on it. I'm leaning more towards patch and touch-up paint, or a sticker to cover the damage.

Guess I'm wrong then, just seems I recalled seeing someone had said that at one point.

It makes sense. It's a similar color to what the paint looks like when it's cloudy or dark out. The clear likely has the metallic flecks or whatever in it. Less of a "clear" coat and more of a "top" coat

Password JDM has some nice covers that would hide nearly all of the ugly in the engine bay. Probably just go with that instead of paint. There is a lot of ugly to be hidden in there

At least it's not as bad (in my opinion) as the Solar Orange cars as @n0thing showed in his pictures below in this thread:

You can vpcall it orange but my eyes see a more brown tint. It is the base paint without the pearl coat so there is nothing to refract the light and give the dazzle effect that make lava look different depending on light source.

Cloudy day today, but I can help with this a bit, at least for visualization. Here's my engine bay (yeah, I know, it's a bit dirty) and you can see on the left is the original fender. On the right is the replaced fender after I got hit in late March. The whole engine bay has that brownish dull look to it, and the only part under the hood that matches the outside body color is the driver's side fender where it attaches. Even the bolts attaching it still have the original dull color to them.

Looks pretty clean to me. It seems like they replaced the fender pretty nicely. You are missing a screw on the driver's side headlight though.
