The guys in Puerto rico, dont mess around when it comes to racing. They will turn it up till something happens and then rebuild.

This wasn't our complete turbo kit, we just sold them the manifold, dp and Intercooler. I think it had a precision turbo on it.

BTW thanks for the compliment

Simple version for the noobs:
Crankshaft is spinning trying to push the pistons up.
Ignition happens before it was supposed to because of the bad gas.
Pressure tries to push the piston down while the crankshaft is still trying to push it up.
Something has to give. In this case rods bent. That's bad.
Sometimes they snap and pieces come out the side of the block. That's worse.
It sucks when pieces that belong inside the engine are found on the outside.

I wasn't going to try for that much hp, this is good for guys to know when they shoot for high HP goals on what can lead to this outcome. Great info from everyone here.

@FullBlown I applaud the fact you guys are honest and transparent and put this kind of stuff out there. It benefits everyone and we all learn everyday what are the limits of this motor. I know for a fact Puerto Rico's gas is pure awful piss.
bad gas or not the high HP def played a factor here. and look how many locals we have trying to push out 500 HP from their kits. u ready for a lot of blown motors by the next meet?

I think everyone pushing 400+ should know they are on borrowed time. Wether it is 3 months, 2K miles or 5 years 60K miles is on a case by case basis and a number of factors. It is definitely really close to the motor limits.
