Haha what I need is another car for winter. Don’t get me wrong, BRZ have been very nice driving in winter... but not really fun plowing the snow on the road lol interested in B48 (4cyl) Supra, but before buying that, prob need winter beater. From there, but Supra & make BRZ race only... which I can only wish. Prob before all those comes true, mini ichi running around draining all my money.

So much potential! That could be home to a seriously fancy home theater. Or, you know, a great place to hang out and watch stuff. I'm vaguely jealous.

When undersizing speakers like these options clearly are for the room, the dispersion and focus of the horns are likely beneficial. YMMV.

whee.

Also, I'd actually recommend he build a false wall ~1' from the real wall; flush-mount the TV, and good in-walls for the speakers. The space behind can also house properly sized subwoofer boxes (and by house, I mean mostly become...)

Hard domes are harder to work with, but sound amazing done right. Horn loaded actually sorta makes it easier, because throat reflections can help tame the natural nastiness and peaks on the top end.
For commercial stuff, they rarely take the time or $ to implement well (IMO). That said, I appreciated soft domes a bit more (though some of the ceramic domes are amazing... pushing closer to ribbon territory, and the best I've ever heard were ribbons.)

C
'recommend' is a very strong word. first he balked at the cost of anything over a $300 2.1 sound bar, and then was posting links to other audio places.

i was trying to keep with the places he was already looking, as best buy is crap for anything other than the extremes of the low end and high end.

my actual recommendation was going to be this, but all of the mk402 bundles are out of stock for the next 2 months, which defeats the purpose of recommending it

Thanks, it is a cool room. The previous owner built it out of the attic over the garage. It's our secret squirrel room. You enter it thru a bookcase.

After talking with you guys, I had a talk with the wife. She agreed that we should do surround sound. We want a cool movie room.

First we need to change it from baby-shit brown to maybe a nice gray. Then my recliner.

I have the big tv, going to get sound. Besides comfy chairs, what else makes a "theater room"?
