Here's what interests me. It appears that the engine sound generator is independent of the infotainment system. That's good news.

Yep. You can unplug it, remove it, have the dealer turn it off, maybe repurpose the speaker...

Hey! There's a lot of unused space behind the dash.
What can we do to make things comically worse?

Since the header gasket is the same as FA20... so lots of implications there. I'm surprised they didn't open up exhaust ports more
lol you knew exactly what I was trying to figure out. I also tried seeing if the cam carrier is the same but it doesn't show up for the 22'.

Of course machining the combustion chamber would make it work, as long as your machinist/engine builder knows that they are doing. They would have to balance the chambers again too.. But people are interested in the new block for 'Easy power" NA purposes that won't involve a built block. Like a k20/24.. Your compression drops off a cliff when you open up the combustion chamber which is fine for FI but not some much NA as now you need custom pistons and have circled back to a built block.

Yup.

There are also two quench pads in the combustion chamber of the NA FA that is not there in the FI version that would likely need replicated to some degree. I have been trying to get one of my vendors to 3d scan a set of heads for me but they have been slammed. They already have a simple work project for me that I dropped of 3 months ago they haven't even started

Gah, that's what I was afraid of.

After all that "FA24 will have higher compression ratio, bad for FI!!!11" thingy, then the inconsistencies in the online configurator, I don't think we should trust the data in a just-updated parts catalogue too much...

OCV parts reused / superseded

2022 FA24 will be using FA20 OCVs it looks like

Very interesting that there's 2 family of OCVs that can be used on FA20s

10921AA241 (superseding 10921AA240) 2015-2021 Brz , forester,wrx
10921AA231 (superseding 10921AA220,10921AA230) 2013-2022

the -231 part is actually the one called out on the TSB but the -241 apparently can also be used. 2015+ vehicles can use either it seems but 2013-2014 can only use -231

Will the 2015+ diff final drive work with the new cars?

Potential that is a part I'd be interested in.

As of right now, it states that the entire diff and r&p are shared with the older models. So yes.

Ahh actually it seems the 2017 manual R&P (the 4.3 one), does not suggest its compatible. The auto from those years still use the 4.1 which is where you might of been confused.

So would it be worth taking a chance on I wonder, or would there be a genuine part incompatibility, not just a 'spec' incompatibility (meaning it would fit but make your car out of spec).

2017-2020 manual are all 4.3. Its just a different r&p in the same case the 4.1 uses.
