Spin turn knob issue
With vibrations, the button comes out a little, so when pulling the handbrake it will lock.
Any suggestion to prevent it? Thanks |

Hey mate, I'm not 100% sure what the problem is, but some locktite threadlocker can stop things coming undone.

No. Spin turn knob is handbrake handle button, that is supposed to move. But preferably not on it's own. As in it's shaped so that can be easier to be pulled or pressed with thumb, and is supposed to be used with spring behind it removed. So that when you want to use stock handbrake for eg. initiating drifts, you can have it pressed in with it staying in, and have no need to keep it pressed, just pull/release handbrake handle. Certainly not part for loctite application.
Meanwhile i'd suggest to try two things, one, which i did with my perrin spin knob after it started rattling, despite having rubber O-ring around in recess, unbolt and apply some tape inside handle (i left a bit end of tape to stick out). May add extra friction between handle & knob. Another .. you can try to screw that knob a bit deeper, just enough for it to operate when pressed in. Maybe more area of knob in contact with handle also may increase friction? As for myself .. initially i thought that having it may bring drifting fun for cheap .. but later on i noticed that i don't use it almost at all even on ice track, and in summer i do normal HPDE grip-driving trackdays. And even when i needed to counter some understeer (less so with more track oriented alignment later on), main brakes usage or lift-off accel for mass transfer and/or steering flick could initiate drift if i wished so as easy, and few experiments with handbrake use more often went wrong and seemed less controlable unlike other handling inputs. Currently i have reinstalled spring behind knob, and probably if knew how i'll drive/use, wouldn't have bought it. |

Thanks, i bought it for look essentially. That is my issue, I'll try to put some tape in the inner part. Do you confirm it has to be fully screwed?

Not fully. It needs still to be able to be pressed in enough to disengage locking. Try to screw in fully and then undo few turns, until range of movement is enough. But that's just a thought. Imho more friction by adding something between handle & knob, such as mentioned tape, should work for sure, at least it prevented rattle noises for me, hence i guess it will vibrate less and will move with more friction for you too.
But if it was for looks only .. why you need to remove spring and why you need for it to stay pushed in when not held pressed? |

I also vote putting the spring back in. My drift knob setup is: drift knob -> nut -> washer -> spring.
