Help me customize

Hey everybody. I recently bought an frs and I have $5,000 left over so I wanted to use that money to upgrade it however I don't know that much about cars. I really want to learn and get the right parts so I'm asking you guys. I don't want any visual upgrades looking for pure performance. If anyone can tell me what I should use the $5,000 for that would help me out a lot!

You should ask @Thefear13 or follow his build on IG. It's a purely functional and tastefully modded FRS. Nothing very cosmetic/flashy either. Mostly performance.

It's been said a few hundred (or more) times on this forum that the most important thing to spend is time driving the car, then decide what makes the most sense to YOU to upgrade. Ask a hundred guys here what you should do and you'll get a hundred different answers. If I were you, and if my thoughts actually matter, if you're looking for performance, spend a little money on a HPDE course and learn how much performance you can gain by learning to drive for performance. That will give you a good baseline to start adding performance parts to the car, of which there are a boatload. Like someone mentioned above, look through the member build sub-forum and see what other people are doing. Often they will tell why they're doing it. Some guys build for show, some for performance and some to impress their friends. It shouldn't be too tough to tell the difference.

Anyway, welcome to the forum and good luck with your journey to make your car your own!

Just do a rocket bunny kit like everyone else who bought a twin and has money burning a hole in their pocket. Also, get Forgestar f14 wheels to go along with it, and use their recommended size for the rocket bunny kit too.

I....
Well....
Ummmm...
Get one of everything?

Don't "upgrade" for the sake of upgrading. As Wire and Hum said learn the car and then figure out what you want. You are going to get more confusing answers here than if you just learn what there is and what YOU want to do. Hell, half these guys will tell you to take the extra and buy a Miata as a second car!

Read up and make up your own mind: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96158

Edelbrock Supercharger which, if installed by an authorized shop, they'll cover your 3 year warranty. Might end up over $5,000 though.

Well, the first thing you need to know about cars is they break...And crash....

How much is your deductible? Hold onto that!

Keep your coin in the bank and drive it for a year. Really get to know your car and read the forum.

You don't really have $5k left over if you still owe on the car. Everytime I see a first post like this I can never tell if they are just trolling.

Only if he bought it new, if I'm not mistaken, and we don't know that he did.
