I keep debating on whether or not I want to go UW.

What do you use for vr? Currently have a rift but i haven't used it in a bit

I've just started playing F.E.A.R. I haven't played it in a very long time. I remember playing it for the first time thinking what an awesome game it was. There were a couple of places where I was scared and one instance I actually moaned in fright. It was fantastic.

To say it is showing its age is a bit of an understatement.

Omg! It was released 15 years ago! *sad*

Anyone remember Bad Mojo? You played as a roach trying to get out of Ted's Apartment (I think it was related? Maybe not). Pretty wild game for back then.

You mean smart?

I loved the FEAR AI. They force you out of cover and actually try to kill you.

Yes

Annoyingly good/smart AI, especially for the time

Gotcha. Important distinction.

I haven't seen AI as relentless as FEAR's since then. In most games it takes ~1hr to find the AI's blind spots (both in 'visual' detection and brainpower) and form a strategy around it. In FEAR every encounter was different every time. You constantly had to adapt and be ready to rush an enemy at a moment's notice because they would force you into the open. It was awesome and added a lot to the stressfulness of the game.

and the scary parts were so scary.

That ladder

and the elevator.

The more you talk about it I think a fear remaster is needed, but keep the AI the same.

It actually a holds up really well graphics wise, It was very advanced for the time.

I agree though, I’d love to see a remaster.

I never played it due to poor reviews. But it's on sale for $10 on Steam currently. I still have a soft spot for the original. It was different for sure.
