Passenger side endlinks nut keeps getting loose

So I’m getting really sick of this.

I installed coils a couple of months ago and I had a clunking noise coming from the passenger side. I check it out and find that it’s the endlink nut. So I tighten it and it’s good for 5 days then the noise comes back.

I repeat the process and it’s good for another week

Then it comes back again! So I decide enough is enough and I buy new endlinks with new hardware.

The clunk finally disappears for a month.... until today. It returns and I’m just shocked.... I have to use an Allen key to keep it from spinning while tightening it with a wrench so I can’t really use a torque wrench. The clunk is gone now after tightening it again but if it comes back what exactly can I do? Am I just not tightening it enough? I don’t want to strip the threads by over tightening

You can always try the wrench combination trick to get it tighter.

You should be able to use a torque wrench. After you get the nut tight with your box end you should be able to remove the allen key and torque it without it spinning in place. Also disconnect that endlink altogether and move both the ball joints on the end through their full range of motion and make sure they're not binding. If it binds in the right spot it can act as a wrench on the stud and loosen it up.

I've always torqued mine with a torque wrench, and through over 300 autocross runs and 25k street miles have yet to have one come loose. If you'd done the above and it still comes loose, a little red loctite will do wonders. Just don't put so much on there that it drips into the endlink joint.

Endlink torque spec is actually pretty low. On the order of 35 ft-lb. You shouldn't need a ton of muscle to keep it on

Try adding some low temp thread locker.

I'll guess that it's not the endlink. How accurately machined is the plate and socket to which the endlink is being fastened?

There's no substitute for a good, tight fit.
