I know the Scion history is so stellar with all the 105hp boxes they make.
I'll just leave that one be.

I literally laughed out loud.

Well then you can't count any of the Datsun zs. Not the same as Nissan!!!

Are you really going to try and dog on Toyotas sports car history?

2000gt, celica, corolla, supra, mr2, LFA.

Boom. Roasted.

You're talking about the z line. Which in america was a bunch of Datsun cars...

This is an FRS/BRZ/gt86 page... So Toyota or Subaru would be the manufacturing company.

And we're glad you like your 370. Clearly you are a little insecure about it if you had to come to a gt86 forum to put us down lol.

Its heavy, steering not great, handling is meh to OK at best, sure it has power but zero driver experience. Its a Japanese muscle car.

Thank you for your opinions though, I hope the z heritage makes you really fast around town.

I've driven a 370. I wasn't impressed. Sure, it's fast in a straight line, but the visibility was awful, the shifter wasn't great, the clutch wasn't great, and did I mention that the visibility was awful? It felt large and heavy when driving too - it was difficult to place the car accurately. If you want a large, heavy car that is very fast in a straight line and around a track, I'm really struggling to see how a 370 beats a Track Pack Mustang GT. If you want a light, nimble car, the 370 really doesn't work for that. Finally, there's the ugliness factor, but I will admit that aesthetics are largely a matter of personal opinion.

(Or, to translate this into terms you can understand: Needless to say, a Mustang GT is far better than a slow 370Z. Boom. Roasted.)

Sure, but that doesn't make it slow. The Mustang GT w/track pack is a fantastic car, and I greatly prefer it over the 370Z (which isn't exactly rare either). Now, admittedly, I'd take a light, agile car (Cayman, Elise, Miata, BRZ) over either of them, but if all you care about is speed, it's hard to argue against the Mustang.

Never said Nissan didn't build great cars. They do. He was just talking down on Toyota/scion...

I don't see why everyone on this forum hates the 370z so much. Until you get to the 70k porsches, the 370z is the lightest car you can get with over 300hp. At the limits it is very stable and somewhat nimble, but it definitely isn't a twitchy car. I can understand how you can say it is boring at street speeds because it doesn't do anything, but I don't think it's sluggish at all at the limits. It has a pretty nice turn in and that double a arm fronts have great bite when loaded at the limit. It's definitely a lot smaller and lower with a shorter wider wheelbase than a mustang or genesis. I don't understand why there is so much vitriol against it on this forum and why everyone thinks it's some overweight pig.

edit: upon further review, the 370z appears basically tied with the corvette for being the lightest production FR car with over 300hp. The corvette does have quite a mostrous bit more hp though.

What I want to know is why there's not more Toyobaru vs Miata comparisons. They're much closer in specs than the twins and the Z. But I also know this comes with the territory; I used to have a 370Z and the comparisons with the Mustang GT were equally tiring. I can't relate to people trying to justify their car's superiority over another. Who cares? Drive what you enjoy.
