Those bolts are probably zinc coated already.

I hate to say it but I unplugged the fake engine noise and I prefer it on lol... I guess I'm a poser.

the bolts are indeed either zinc or cadmium plated, except for the sway bar endlinks which will rust, but I didn't paint bolts I painted the machined surfaces (flat areas underneath the bolts/nuts).

I'm gonna do the fronts too, maybe this weekend.

I'm actually considering unplugging the engine noise too because I think it's droning out my microphone when I'm on the phone. People on the other end seem to hear almost nothing but noise from the speakers. It's just not coming from the right location as it should be.

Why is there so much wheel gap?

Likely because the car was just up in the air given the mudguard install... usually takes time and some movement to settle.

Here is the car today:

That makes sense. You had me scared for a bit. Thought you were going to take it off-roading.

Painted surfaces have different coefficient of friction, so bolt torque must be changed to have same clamping force. If you maintain the torque, check often.

If those are areas that are exposed to heating (excessive) or paint chemical is poor, this also can affect torque whenever paint starts loosing it’s adhesion to the machined surface.

It is a good rust prevention, just demand a little bit of maintenance.

^ Good call. I didn't paint under the fasteners thankfully and instead used q-tips and a brush to apply some rustoleum rust converter since there was surface rust forming in those areas. But I am in agreement and also wouldn't want to completely disassemble it all to paint and also have to think about the paint flaking or fasteners loosening etc.
