Good job on the mods and weight reduction.
I did take out the 2 braces on the roof of mine. But have recently considered putting them back in, Maybe swiss cheese them first. Also used Coroplast for underbody plates did this 2 years ago and still holding strong. Plus superlightweight. Have plenty of weight loss ideas in my build, which I havent updated in a while but im coming back into the game! https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118243

That under body work looks awesome. I've considered doing that, but I'm just worried about getting thrown into unlimited and getting my ass handed to me by full budget race teams I think it's safe to say I'll get my ass handed to me regardless of the category haha Your build looks awesome, that rear seat delete is fucking perfect! |

It's a stupid iPhone thing. You need to open the photos in something like Photoshop and rotate them in there.
I have to do this with almost anything I try to post that was taken with my iPhone.

Few updates!
New tires, new wheels... Originally had these wheels set up with Pirelli P Zero Slicks, which weren't exactly street friendly, and I got tired of the matte black PF01s, so I decided to just split the difference between my DWS-06s, and the slicks, and try out Yokohama Advan V601s. Obviously less aggressive than possibly the car deserves, but I think it strikes the balance I'm looking for with the car between street and track driving. And I think an unfortunate reality is that I really can't afford to drive on the track very frequently, so I don't need the absolute fastest tires out there. On the plus side, way into the way the silvers wheels look on the car. Replaced the clutch line with a braided unit that came with the car, and had an inordinate amount of trouble, then used the proper tool (flare nut wrench) and had no issue at all...Always need a reminder that there is a reason for job specific tools existing. All in all, absolutely loving the car as it is now. BUT...Having a presistent, P0455 code, replaced the gas cap, to no avail. Car did sit for quite a while before I bought it, so I wonder if somehow moisture found it's way into the evap system, not really sure but car is running perfectly fine, just annoyed with the code Last edited by GabeoHuncho; 04-05-2022 at 09:04 PM. |

you could unhook the positive batter cable, press on your brakes, then re hookup to clear out the codes

Oh I keep clearing it and running the permanent code reset procedure, and it returns as a permanent code so the issue is persisting…

Not much of an update, but feel like I’m failing starting to get an understanding of the way the car handles somewhat near the limit.
Has been a fun learning curve, being that this is the first rear wheel drive car I have owned, enjoying the V601s so far as well, seem to have a fairly predictable limit of grip, and 265 square is pretty astonishingly grippy The more I drive it on the highway, the more I get annoyed with the 4.88 gearset, but luckily I don’t drive on the highway very much Here’s a pic from in my opinion…one of Tennessee’s better twisty roads, and almost always without any traffic, the Cumberland plateau makes for great roads |

Finally addressed a small issue that had bothered me since I bought the car…replaced the Radio bezel trim. Every time I looked down at the radio, or anywhere other than out the front glass, I was just drawn to the gaping maw of the dash…no longer!
Bad news however, as I forgot to unplug my OBD 86nanny over night, and bricked the Shorai….so need a new battery |
