Different kind of FR-S rebadging question
I have a question regarding considering a different flavor of rebadging the FR-S. This is for the rear end. Does the trim over the license plate have an oval-shaped "impression" for the oval shaped badge, or is it totally flat? If it is flat, do you think that replacing the Scion badge with a “boxer 86” badge (the one with the pistons, from the front fenders) would look good?
And, would the alignment holes from the oval badge be covered up by the new badge? I have zero ability to photoshop this badge: Onto this picture: But I wonder if someone would be willing to do so and we could see how it looks. Personally I think it would look really good. Cheers, Dave |

Thanks -- good work, and FAST!
I was just thinking the process would be: 1) carefully peel off Scion badge, 2) clean up any leftover adhesive, 3) line up "boxer 86" badge to cover the pinholes left behind, and 4) apply it. This of course assumes the mounting surface is a flat plane versus the current badge being sunken into an oval depression. Seeing that I dont have my car in hand yet, can anyone with a car, or with access to one, comment on that? Thanks again Dave |

The advantage of having one right outside, the area is flat. Also the rear badge is slightly narrower (left to right) than the 86 badge. Can't speak to the holes but if you look at the Toyota badge thread there are guide holes for the Scion badge but its held by tape. Also, note that its not obvious in the grey 86 photo above but the badge sits on top of a raised area on the side panel. |

Maybe the position of the alignment holes can be guessed by comparing the Scion and Toyota logo. They must be where they have overlap.

Removing the FR-S for sure, just because it's kind of awkward where it is.
And we're 100% certain there are holes behind the scion badge? |
