FRS no start

Frustrating when you can’t get home! 2014 manual. Car started up perfectly, and I drove to the gym. Hour and a half later I get in, and the sucker doesn’t start. Tried to turn over but not enough power. I tried roll starting it, I was so close but just couldn’t get enough speed. After waiting around for a bit I finally flagged down a lady about to workout and she gave me a jump. Started up, and drove the 15 minutes back home, kept the car running for another 15 minutes then shut it off. Instantly tried to start it up again but it wouldn’t roll over. Wishing I had a voltage reader!
Your thoughts? Must be a bad battery I’m thinking if it’s just not holding a charge but it’s only like 8 months old. Also notched a lot of corrosion around the terminals if anyone knows what that may be from. Any thoughts, experiences or advice would be appreciated. CCW appointment in the morning, can’t miss that haha.

If the battery is brand new, maybe its an almost dead alternator

Better get a new battery tonight if you want to drive it tomorrow. Sounds like you got a dud battery. Warranty claim.

EPS depends on a healthy alternator.

Key word in the description of the problem: Corrosion

I had corrosion on my first FR-S' battery terminal and was working under the hood one time near it before I cleaned it all off.

A gust of wind came and blew a tiny spec of the corrosion off and into my eye.

Had to flush my eye with water for a solid hour. That sucked.

A little water mist keeps the dust from flying. Works great for sulfuric acid as well as hantavirus.

Oh God, nothing worse than the smell of mice nesting in your car! I had one in a work van about 25 years ago and couldn't locate it for the life of me until finally the headliner started "seeping" above my head. Horrible smell and I'll never forget it.

The battery is low, charge it. That is all. Driving a car around for 30 minutes, even an hour, won't fully charge a low battery. It needs to be put on an actual charger.

Not necessarily.: If the corrosion is built up heavily enough between the battery post(s) and the clamps, the car will have both starting problems and charging problems. Using jumpers on the outside of the clamps in an attempt to start, will allow the car to start, however, the corrosion between the post and clamp may not allow the battery to charge properly.

OP really needs to obtain a multi-meter like he said to verify voltages at the proper points in an attempt to further troubleshoot.
