Thoughts On Brake Booster Delete For My BRZ

Hey All,

So I am on a quest to reconstruct my wiring harness, and in doing so, found out that Subaru thought it would be a good idea to bird nest every fucking connection possible into 1 harness.

I am doing my own racing harness with TXL wire, Raychem loom, etc, and all while going about this project, noticed the wiring is behind the brake booster, attached to the brake lines, and is a pain in the ass to remove without removing those lines and/or booster.

Having said that, I figured that if I'm going to go that far, this might be a good opportunity to install a Chasebays dual-piston brake booster delete.

Not sure if anyone here has done such a thing, if so, I'd love to hear your feedback.

For everyone else, I'd like to hear your thoughts and/or suggestions as well.

LoL, so yeah, I went ahead and purchased everything...

What will happen to the VDC control module now that I dont need it for the brake lines?

Like, do I just plug the brakeline connectors up and plug the harness clip back in and throw it in my glove box now? LoL

Any info would be greatly appreicated!

Trying to build this baby across all spectrums...show, go, drift, drag, audio, lol

I've put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into this build, but most of all, money! haha

My ultimate goal would be SEMA. I know that sounds far-fetched, but dreams are achievable.

A funny thing just happened as I just got off the phone with my buddy/tuner, and I advised him that I went ahead and purchased the Chase Bay's dual caliper delete kit, and he was like, "Oh yeah, I was going to mention that!"

So not sure if that was a universal sign, but I'll take it.

He basically stated keep the brain, relocate it.

So I'll just go ahead and plug the brake line holes with filler head studs, lengthen the wires a bit, and tuck the VDC module somewhere out of sight and out of mind.

I have been looking at the booster delete and chase bays say that you can retain abs. Just fyi incase you want abs for streetability.

I was just thinking about that being a possibility since the pump is what does the abs work.

What do you mean? The booster doesn't drive ABS. This is easily tested by unhooking the vac line from the booster and finding that ABS still works.

In either case, if you're driving this car you're going to want to maintain the booster and ABS. This is a holy war topic in a lot of places on the internet, much like oil or brake pads.

That is what I just said..
ABS IS AN AFTER THOUGHT
IE The booster doesn't affect ABS at all AFAIK

i'm reading this thread to try to better understand.

i read the whole 'ad' of the chasebay's manual master cylinder.

now the opposing side. why would i want to maintain the booster?

Yeah, I assumed everyone would see where I was coming from but the more I shop this thread around it's real hit or miss.
Apparently it's highly dependent on knowing how a cars brakes work.

Booster will provide vacuum assistance to reduce pedal effort, if you build the same pressures, this would not affect the upcoming systems. Be sure to build new lines with similar route as the original. Do not change the abs unit location.

If the dual piston master cylinder has any adjustability, this would crash with the ebd logic from the abs unit.
