Drivers' Seat Clicking on 86

New 86 GTS bought in 2017.

Almost 2 years now (March) but been having this issue that the dealer/warranty service refuses to accept it even exists.

Whenever i do a sharp turn (round-about or a sharp left/right turn), or rarely a hard brake, i hear and feel on my driver's seat a clicking sound almost like a 'pop'. I haven't been able to diagnose where and why it happens but I have noticed it happens a tiny bit more frequently when my seats are pumped up (i currently sit at 0 increased height).

I can handle and ignore the other sounds from this car, i know it makes these random sounds sometimes that you just have to ignore but this popping/clicking sound under my seat is too close to just ignore. It's just very irritating whenever i do a turn and there's a click and it happens almost EVERY SINGLE turn. The dealer has said they don't hear it and can't seem to replicate it (bullshit).

Has anyone else experienced something similar or have had the same issue with their seats? Any ideas on how to fix it? It's the most irritating thing with my 86, enough that i almost want to sell the car.

Have you ever tried seeing if the bolts holding the seat down are tight???

Well, you shouldn't have to put up with that. Like suggested, make sure it's bolted down solid to the floorboard. Also make sure there isn't anything stuck or jammed under the seat or stuck in the rails that is preventing both sides from resting solid.

You might have to take the seat out and inspect it for something lose.

I have found that sometimes just taking something apart and putting it back together - "fixes" it - and you may never know why.

I've had this issue as well. Usually I think the pop/click noise happens in my mid-back section. But I've been too lazy to do anything about it. They don't happen frequently enough, IMO. But they're a bit funny/annoying when they do happen.

I would sell the car. Why bother finding the fix.
But first I would take a wrench to the seats then sell the car.

You may wish to try a remedy from the Puyallup tribe's medicine man before surgery with the vet -

In short, if you're not willing to do a basic check and inspection no one will listen to your complaints. Pull-up some of the carpet, get some good light and take a look, maybe post a couple pictures of what you find out?

To tag onto the seat discussion though, I got my 2013 BRZ on release (not first 86 but June 2012) and I've had a persistent issue with my passenger seat... When the back rest is folded forward the seat won't latch, just slides freely. No clicking on either seat, though the driver one is a little beat up because my fat ass is too wide for the stock seats.

Like forward and back along the rails?
That's how front seats are supposed to work.

I've been chasing a LF A pillar pop for a few days, after being parked a week for the Northwest snowpocalypse. Same thing, sometimes braking but always when turning.

Found it this morning, it's the dead pedal. I must be loading it up to hold myself in the seat. Might mention it when it's in for a free service, they'll think I'm crazy.
