I'm hoping for both and that I wont encounter the same issue later on with the passenger side once warranty is up.
Its at the discretion of the technician. Make friends, ask them to take it into consideration. If the tech says it needs it, it gets replaced.

They did both of mine even though the passenger one made way less noise.

They weren't able to find the TSB when I went to the dealer today. Any chance that someone might have the Subaru Canada TSB number on an invoice?

Thanks!

Yeah i can't seem to find the TSB number for Subaru and i need to take the car in for this. I don't know if I'll actually need it since my local dealer is pretty cool usually, but it would be nice to have it on hand.

It's a sticky at the top of this forum, the TSB/Recall section.

Scroll down to #11 on the FR-S side, "S-SB-0009-14 : Outside Door Weatherstrip". Or just click the link I just linked.

That is for the frs I don't believe scion's recall will work at a Subaru dealership for a brz. Does Subaru have a TSB on this?

Yeah that's the issue. They don't deny the Toyota TSB, but it doesn't mean a whole lot at the Subaru dealer except to help look for the Subaru version. I'll probably give Subaru Canada a call before my next oil change to see if they have any record on it.

Any chance that the Subaru version of this TSB has been found?

I have contacted John J. Mergen regarding this issue. He told me that I will need to go to a dealership again to attempt to remedy this issue. He also stated that he has not heard of reports of other Subaru customers experiencing this issue. So please email John guys.

"Dear Mr. Jan:

Thank you for taking the time to contact Subaru of America, Inc. regarding a squeaky window on your 2013 BRZ.

Your 2013 BRZ has not been affected by any recalls. There is no TSB issued for a window squeak concern. I would recommend that you schedule a service appointment with your Subaru retailer. We rely on their technical expertise to identify and resolve vehicle concerns. They have the advantage of being able to physically inspect and test drive your BRZ. When your appointment is set, please let me know when it is. I can then gather information from the Service Manager upon their servicing of your vehicle.

Thank you, Mr. Jan, for the opportunity to be of service.

Sincerely,

John J. Mergen

The Scion TSB that they used to get rid of my window squeak was actually the one for the "Frozen Window" issue. The change in the guides seemed to do the trick.
There is an equivalent one for the BRZ: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...1&d=1392053726

How should we approach the dealer regarding this issue? I live in California so I don't think I can tell my dealer that my Windows are freezing up during the winter. lol.

That is a problem! If they are a good dealer they should accept your explanation that this TSB has been known to fix the issue. I had mine done before it was even cold here just because they heard the squeal and I told them that the frozen window fix had been reported to get rid of it.
Worth a shot.

Or...Take a road trip to a North Dakota dealer in January.

Anyone got a TSB for this for Toyota? I finished up preparing the car for winter storage and now that the windows are really clean i noticed scratches too (i never noticed any sound when pulling the windows down or up, but i rarely pull them down more than 1-2 cm's) the scratches are in 2 lines and look very similar to the guy that posted the pic just not that bad, but if this is replaceable under warranty i'll try to do it, was really sad when i noticed, i though they were just dirt before :<
