So, the Supra guys had no info on the 86 (or at least played dumb). However, the press photos for the A91 edition of the Supra were taken at the track. My track manager friend confirmed that the new 86 was going to be likewise photographed at the track in the near future (he made it sound imminent but hasn't yet told me the actual date and I'm not sure if he really can).

No, but this one was:

The previous image was taken at the track for the special edition Supra, which shows that the track is indeed a location used by Toyota to take promotional pictures for upcoming models.

I'll keep prodding my track manager friend for more info on when the new 86 will be at the track for its photos, and I'll make sure to share whatever info I can.

That looks like Eagles Canyon Raceway.

Tangentially related topic but I can firmly say this is one of the most beautiful colors you can see in person.

Well, I never saw it in sunlight, only conference center showroom lighting. But I'd assume it looks just as good.

We reached out to both Subaru and Toyota for a comment and this is what we got.

Subaru USA simply responded with “no comment at this time” but Subaru UK said that while they cannot comment about Japan, they can confirm that “European production for the BRZ has ended“.

In addition, a Toyota USA representative told us that orders for the 2020 86 model are “still open and will be through the end of production for this model year, which goes through the fall”.

This probably means that the production of the Toyobaru twins will be gradually brought to an end instead of outright stopping the lines at Subaru’s Gunma factory in Japan.

The car in the link I posted looks quite a bit different than the one in that Autoblog article from October. This one is from a few days ago and it looks very similar to the renderings from Best Car.

and? My comment is in regard to the title of the video being "GR86 spied for the first time." It's not, there have been mules out and about already that have been posted.

Extra LOL for this video referencing this forum as a source
