We had a psychologist/business management expert tell us that always hire the well rounded person that can work with others. Then go and seek that specific deep knowledge from consultants or universities, institutes. She said only hire them if absolutely necessary to the success of the work. Not easy to tell from an interview, but some people are good at seeing it. |

12-14k isn’t too bad, your biggest problem is being young and limited credit history. With 6k down that should help the LTV to the point where I’d imagine you’d get approved. Is 1,200 a month what you make before or after taxes? When you fill out your credit app use your before tax income amount on the form. Lastly keep in mind that most banks will have a minimum finance amount, usually between 5k-7.5k. Good luck!

Everybody is throwing their 2 pennies so why not. I ain't gonna tell ya to save for the future or wait, unless you want one in better shape. (just looked up a black on black 2016 mt6 that has < 25k and they listed at 16k so that might be something to wait on to get the down. But either way 36 mon loan on 6-7k is not a bad thing.
That being said, you heard it a thousand times here, insurance will be the issue really.. the average premium for 18 YOM around $850 a month ) I've had my dreams dashed by insurance as well. Would spending your entire month's wages or earnings plus all savings in that situation worth it. Definitely not Dave Ramsey smart by a long shot.. so keep saving like I said I wouldn't tell you. |

So a little update to this thread; I’m 18 now, and I sold my 2006 Toyota Camry. Today, I bought my 6 speed manual Supercharged 2013 Scion FR-S for $12000 cash and have no regrets. Its red and has 66k miles on it and still has a warranty until 2022. Cant wait to have some fun with it! Im taking it into the dealership soon to get the recalls done.

Many people that go forced induction go back to NA. It’s not for everyone and not many people have a neutral opinion on it. Some people love it, some people say it’s the worst thing they’ve done to the car. You’re brave to buy one that is FI’d. Good luck, it could bring many problems, or it could be fine. Only time will tell. |

I hope the dealership doesn't give you a hard time about doing the recall work with a SC sitting on top of your engine. |
