Supra mega thread on Reddit. Matt Farrah's opinion is that it slots neatly between pony cars, BMWs and the Cayman. He also found it had better steering feel than the 86 TRD edition they had on hand. The steering ratio is surprisingly slow (15:1), but apparently very well tuned. His opinion is that this is also the best implementation of the ZF8 of any car he has tested. Sounds like Toyota hit their mark.

Supra a competitor of Cayman S? Mentioned in Car&Driver. LOL. Good joke. It has less power and much more weight.

And by the way... 50-50 weight distribution marketing and interior all BMW!

Exterior is nice

the Supra is probably underrated as with most BMWs..

0-60
Supra: 4.1 second
Cayman S: 4.4 second

and lets not forget the price tag. even the base Supra comes well equipped.
Supra: $49,900
Cayman: $69,300

^^That Cayman S time is with the 6 speed manual. Both the Cayman and Cayman S are sub 4 second cars to 60 mph with the PDK.

The Supra lines up well with the base Cayman; comparison tests against that are what interest me the most. It gets smoked by the Cayman S, however. Also despite marque prestige of the Supra badge, it still doesn't carry the same weight as a Porsche, and cannot command similar money.

What's going to be annoying is trying to test drive the Supra. The dealerships are going to act like it's God's gift to the world. Meanwhile I can just waltz into my local Porsche dealership and test drive a variety of 718s (has nothing to do with me currently owning a Porsche - I used to do that when I drove an S2000).

BMW insider: "385 hp Supra model is coming"

It will be sold in the U.S. and the countries not subject to Euro emissions regulations: Korea, Japan, Russia, Gulf states.

Understand that Toyota is playing this in such a way to keep sales going over the next few years. This means power bumps, new colors and trims, maybe a manual even, and of course a proper hot version at some point. I think we all already knew this though, no?

True, but I'm going off real world testing, not manufacturer's published figures. (Which are usually conservative anyway, so Supra could be faster)

Also, nothing stupid to worry about with the Caymans hitting any sort of fake speed limiter on top end.

The Supra's trunk looks tiny.....
Its supposedly 10.1 cubic ft vs the 86's 6.8

Is it really that much bigger? It looks just as small...

the Lexus RC has the same 10.1 cubic feet size and it looked....decently sized in person, and looks bigger than the Supra's in pictures.
