Went up to LA yesterday with a friend to check out a really cool bookstore! walked from the station, through the art village and Little Tokyo to get there!

The bookstore itself definitely had its own unique aesthetic with a lot of art installations made up of repurposed material. Was very cool!

Duuude I love that whole set! That just inspired me to try and find some cool spots on my staycation next week.

Also, there's going to be a new Cars and Coffee event on Sunday at an old C&C spot so I'm planning to go and see if I can snap any good pics. I just wish I had a wider angle lens, since my 35mm is basically 50mm focal length on my mirrorless.

I would like to get this lens. I will probably buy this lens sometime in the distant future.
This would make an awesome companion to my 12-100mm when we go traveling*. I own a Panny 7-14mm but the extra reach of this new lens would be useful although I will have to see how much difference 1mm at the wide end makes. Compromise and all that.

*Given that travel isn't on any near agenda neither is the quick purchase of this lens.

I like F4 lenses, good compromise from heavy F2.8’s and slooooow 5.6+ ones yet stays compact and affordable,

Makes for a good travel lens.. and can still meter with a polarizer.
You may find it complementing the shorter end your Panny covers as well.
Looks like a nice all round general lens to have.

How are photo prices and availability in your area ?

I have found myself once carrying around a 8MM Rokinon a 10-24 f/3.5-4.5G Nikkor & a 16-80 2.8-4F Nikkor
but usually it’s a hard decision when I can only carry one or none.

Can they be better than cat pics?

I had a co-worker who collected stray cats and was much into photography, As in making lots of photos to show of her cats…

I don’t think she ever showed me photos of anything else exept once of some stars that she was all happy to get.

So yesterday I went with a friend to the 25th running of Toyotafest up in Long Beach! I'm not really into car shows as much as I used to be (they're kinda boring tbh!) but here are some cars that I thought were cool:

We also went to the aquarium and walked around the marina so i'll also be posting pics of that soon!

Went to the Cars and Coffee today. Hard as usual to frame the way I want with crowds and people walking in front of me. I really need to get a ~20mm lens, because while I love my 35mm, its real focal length is 50mm.. So for car photography at least it's super difficult to get a profile shot without having to back up a ton... which doesn't work in crowded areas.

Anywho, very light editing. Wanted to play with more realistic edits this time, as opposed to the Supra a couple weeks ago:

Chilean Nasturtiums.
Been told by 'an horticulturist' that they're the best display of the particular species on the west coast NA.

Those are some beautiful flowers/plants! One of those things where you think you've "seen them all" and then you see even more that are also amazing.
