I think a '57 BelAir would make a great restomod. They were relatively comfortable to begin with, from what I can remember from my Dad's back in the day. The stuff you mentioned, plus upgraded suspension would be good. I'd want to replace the drums with discs though. A collapsible steering wheel would be great, but I suspect ain't cheap.

Yeah I don't know exactly what route he went to get power steering on the thing. I do know it was quite an ordeal.

One of the other "old guys" I know has a 63' Comet that he drives regularly. It is stock with a 302 swapped in for the factory 289. The brakes in that thing are terrifying. I've driven it a couple times and it freaks me out.

A friend got a new MkI MR2. Nice look for the times and was a snappy drive.
No cargo space (minimal is overstating it). MkII a bit more, but back to even less for MkIII.
Ok for a second car.
I don't 2nd car though. I've got 2nd motorcycles for minimalism.
Need room for 2 weeks on the road or space for kites out at the ocean for a week.
Some kite spars would be hanging out of the MR2.

Crazy news today. There was a mass shooting just about a mile from my old apartment this morning, at the regional transit company's maintenance yard for street rail trams. 8 people, plus the shooter have died.

0-60 is 8.9-9.7 secs I know this, cuz I had to test 0-60 for my buddy's 240z... which my buddy's 240z did average of 9.2 secs. 1/4 mile was 16.5? 16.9? can't remember the 1/4 miles.

I'm really bummed.

My car won't pass smog because of a code. The code is low fuel pressure.

The car was fine until I got the fuel flapper installed. I talked to a few experts and they told me, if you have the aftermarket fuel pump (DW or something like that), you have to remove parts to install the flap. I know the guy who installed my flap did no such thing, because it took him 5 seconds. Now I have 48 fuel pressure.

I think I'm going to sell my twin. I don't like it anymore.

Hey spike, same guy.
