It will be nothing but a drag. What good does it if the degree gets you and little extra money in your first job if it all goes to the bank?

I'm not sure what field you are in, but very few fields really matter where you got your education, except maybe your first job. Hell, look at the medical field, very few come from the "elite schools", but we all call them Dr. and they all get the big checks. Heck, a good percentage of them came from schools that you've never heard of, that aren't in this country.
For point A, yeah exactly. Plus if for some odd reason (even if you can't foresee it now) if you wind up choosing to do something different, then you may not be as capable of ever paying it off. I know of people (and I'm sure you do as well, @HaXx) who went through university, graduated, and then wound up doing something else and/or struggled to find a job.

For point B, not sure how it works with PT but with Computer Science it's amazing how many people think you have to go to Stanford, MIT, Caltech, CMU, etc.) but in the end it's just the amount of work you put in. I ended up at the top tier of regular IT companies (they call them FAANG for Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google) but went to a shitty state school.

So just some food for thought.

School is what you make it.
Sadly a LOT of tech companies in the Bay Area care. When I was searching for internships and then for junior engineer roles (fresh out of college) the number of companies like Twitter, Uber, Lyft, etc. that had a spot in the application for where you graduated from but as a list of (Stanford, MIT, Ivy League, CMU, other) was pretty big. Several of those rejected me straight away, no interview, and I'm sure it's because I put "other" LOL. Oh well, still successful anyway.

I think any field has pretentious idiots at the top. So it's just a matter of figuring out how to be persistent and work your way up.

With a little preplanning you can stagger your college and get the piece of paper with the name you want and not go broke... two at community college, one at a less expensive state school, as an example, and then one year at the school you want to have on your diploma. Doing one year at UT got me the same looking degree as the people that went into massive debt to be there for four. Never once have I been asked how many years I went there...

But that wait time also means I'll keep getting woken up in the middle of the night by homeless/drug addicts outside who scream at nobody in particular for hours. Last night I got woken up at 5am .

Perhaps the best news, though, is that while I don't get a garage I will get to park in a car port/covered spot. My car has been an outdoors car the past 4 years, so some cover will be great. Maybe it'll stay clean for longer.
Hey I have that problem too! But my homeless addicts are cats. Ok one cat. And he is cute.

Hahaha I did the same thing. Did UVU online for my BS and then got my Master's (also online) at Embry-Riddle [the Harvard of aviation]. Looks great on paper and (not including flight training but I did that locally at a fraction of the cost) I think all in all it was under $60k for both degrees.

He was. Now he squats in my office all day, shits in a box, and runs around crying for attention all night. So I guess he's just a bum.

Came back from dentist appointment... oof! My mouth still bleeding good. Had to do a ton of cutting and cleaning. I won't be able to chew, no hot food or any solid food for 24~48hrs. I'm getting old, so I gotta get this done before it gets worse.

On the positive note, I couldn't do any knife making for a month or so (due to moving). Cool member here sent me a good chunks of steels to make more knives! Hopefully I can start knife making again this month or next month (depends on dentist & baby).

I've taken my wisdom teeth (all 4) plus 2 extra taken out when I was 17. Today was for some tar and cavity that was building up under the gum. Doc need to cut my gum to get those tar out. It's stitched back up now.
