Those overhead pictures are the first pictures I've seen where I see any resemblance to the AE86.

Over at NASIOC there are some that are comparing the rear subframe to a GR STi... saying it has a similar rear suspension design...

That arch in between the exhaust pipe on the FT and the arch on the STi look similar.
Another thing that I noticed that might resemble a Subaru tranny is that CF piece below the shift knob on the FT. I'm not sure if there for comfort/more grip or used to engage the transmission into reverse like the STi. When I drove my buddy's STi, there is a similar ring you have pull up in order to throw it into reverse. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...0&d=1267537819

most cars have the pull up thing even the 6sp manual 2007 corolla has the lift up ring to get it into reverse .

the 07 modle... yes 1.8 l 100kw fwd my girlfriend currently drives...
toyota.com.au not sure what urs got released as but it has the same thing. |
