Anyone have any luck with their dealer flashing the TCM logic update to a 2013 or 2014 car? My local dealer said the only TCM update available is for 2015 cars and wouldn't advise flashing that to a non-2015. They didn't hook the computer up to my car and run an update check though so they may have just searched the TSBs... Not too sure if they are able to see all available ECU and TCM revisions without the VIN or being connected to the car.

I don't have any hard shifting or idle hunt issues, but I figured it couldn't hurt to have the updated logic.

Or as above, try a different dealer

It also applies to early 2016's, like mine.

I had this TSB done about a week and a half ago and the hard shifting appears to be gone. Didn't even notice whether I had the fluctuating idle issue but definitely had the hard shifting after going to "sport" mode after driving in normal mode for a while.
I told them that I had the fluctuating idle problem along with the hard shifting. Of course, they couldn't figure out how to reproduce the shifting issue but did they did the TSB reflash and it appears to take care of the problem. I consider this fixed for now unless I come back and edit my message. Thanks again to all on this site.

I think the TSB said it was 20 minutes of labor

For a dealer to do a campaign or tsb, I don't think they can charge you...? Voluntary campaign or not.

Only thing is that mine is a 2013 not a 2015-2016.

I didn't have any luck at my local dealer, see post above. TLDR: Dealer said there is no TCM logic update for 2013 and 2014 cars.

Let me know if you're able to get it done.

The symptoms are very specific, so I am not sure if changing the trans fluid will do much - not to say that it won't help it either.

I would just print out the TSB and try to get your car to re-produce the shifting issue before you bring it to the dealership. Kindly explain to the service advisor that although the TSB states a specific year, it is also occurring in your vehicle as well.

Motul Gear 300 is for the differential and manual transmissions. You need to use automatic transmission fluid (ATF) instead. I am changing mine to Amsoil ATF in the near future.

Please don't involve the ATF with cars, they already restrict enough guns as it is.

I feel the shame of being OT.
