Still I enjoyed it when you take it for what it was, mainly comedy.

Venture Brothers and Archer are always worth recommending. Still my favorite cartoons.
Haven’t been watching any shows lately. I was pretty jazzed about the new season of Penny Dreadful:City of Angels, but it turned out to be nothing like the preceding seasons. I don’t fault Natalie Dormer or any of the other cast members, I just found so many episodes of race wars and gay Nazis kind of tedious. As far as films go, The Green Knight was shockingly good. I’ve never seen an Arthurian film that so perfectly captures what it’s like to read those trippy old stories.

[richard lands gyrocopter after test flight, notice gas tank clearly sloshing at 2/3-1/2 of capacity] then richard says "well this won't work, it drinks fuel too fast, we used up all the ethanol we made".... the rear wing assembly is chuck norris levels of impressive from ship parts from tv hosts, and the gauge pod that just so happens to be aeronautically setup...

Might as well recommend some movies. My personal list of great movies:
1. Dersa Uzala (1975). True story, amazing cinematography, Oscar winner. 2. The Inner Circle (1991). Based on the story of Stalins projectionist. Fine performances from Tom Hulce and Lolita Davidovich. A good date night movie. 3. American Me.(1992) Edward James Olmos nearly got killed for this one. 4. The Wild Bunch (1969) Wlliam Holden, Ernest Borgnine go south of the border and shoot up everything. 5. The Sorcerer (1977) Roy Scheider plays a man running from his past. I am going to watch the hell out of that.
I can almost guarantee it is going to be hot garbage. Shit looks like a bad fan made film or a low budget BBC show. |

I introduced my mother to FIREFLY last weekend. She was pretending to be disgusted by the nonsensical mashup of genres, but I could tell she couldn’t wait for me to leave so she could binge watch them.

First reaction:. Wtf is this!? Literal cowboys in space? Why does the spaceship look like a farmhouse? Wait, are they the bad guys here? Then: Ok, that was interesting, I guess I'll have to watch one more... |

My mother’s taste in films is so different than mine. She’s such a gentle soul. It’s a good feeling to be able to hook her up with something she’ll enjoy.

Oh! Serenity. Yes. Even I didn’t care for that.
I finally watched The Silence of the Lambs, and World War Z last week, after years of being told that I needed to. Re-watched Atomic Blonde, and Darjeeling Limited, just for fun. Also found this little Wes Anderson gem:

serenity tries to take shortcuts to answer every question and head off any possibility of a sequel. that's what bothers me most about it
