I don't want to say how old I am. My first car was a 1950 Studebaker, you figger it out.
Haven't worked for, let's see, almost 20 years.
Nobody is too old for this car.

Not sure why, but I think you are a cool guy

Wow you guys are fast with your replies. No, I'm not 86.
I bought an MR2 in 1986, traded it in for FR-S in 2012. thus the name.

This thread is kind of interesting. When I voted 1+ years ago I was in the 21-25 and now I'm in the next range. I wonder how many others are shifting ranges lol.

Man, that's an extremely long time to keep 1 car.... almost 30 years.

How many miles did the MR2 have on it? Did u end up installing any forced induction on that thing?

What sort of problems did the MR2 have when you traded it in?

Yeah, 26 years. I tend to keep cars a long time, I've had a 26, 25, 17, 16. Cars last a long time if you maintain them yourself. I got too old to keep maintaining the MR2, and nobody else knew how, so it had to go.

I did have an HKS turbo kit on it for 50,000 miles, street use only. It toasted the engine, so I swapped in a name-forgotten factory rebuilt.

I traded it in with some 118,xxx miles. The last 10 years it became a Sunday driver, so not many miles. It was still in good condition, only thing wrong with it was LOTS of old, original parts that just had to start breaking. Even the spare tire was original, never been on the ground.

FR-S is vastly more capable than the MR2 was. The only thing I miss is having all that space around me on the freeway. FR-S feels like a big car to me haha.
