Megan Racing Tranny and Engine hard rubber mounts
Hey everyone,
browsing FT86speedfactory last night and noticed they now sell Megan Racing Tranny and Engine mounts http://ft86speedfactory.com/megan-ra...unts-1054.html http://ft86speedfactory.com/megan-ra...ount-1055.html Has anyone used Megan mount products? In all honesty im not a big Megan fan, but the price does seem reasonable, I don't want poly mounts and I really like to stick with hard rubber. I was set to order the STI mounts until noticing these. So my question is has anyone had previous experience with Megan mounts and how they hold up? @ft86speedfactory maybe you can comment as well? Cheers, |

Well the pictures make them look like some nice pieces. I have been wanting to do a matching set of tranny and engine mounts, so I might give them a shot. I am surprised @FT-86 SpeedFactory hasn't made a thread about them.

I'd like to know the durometer difference vs stock, how long the warranty is, the grade of fasteners used and finally how they're constructed.
Your site lists that they are durometer 70, which seems like it would work well for a daily driver, but it's hard to get an idea of how they'll feel with knowing how much stiffer they are then stock. I've never used Megan parts before but I've heard a lot of negative. Knowing the grade of the fasteners used could help dispel any negative rumors before they start. It looks like the engine mounts are cast aluminum with a mild steel top, and the tranny mount looks to be formed mild steel bar stock. Both look to be painted black. Oh, and if you've had a chance to install them, some personal observations would be awesome, but I doubt you'd ave installed these on your race car. As always, thanks guys. |

Usually the Megan mounts, and bars are okay products. The exhaust aren't horrible either but not great. The Coils are complete junk though. |

Honestly would u go install a Megan product when they get so much negative shit from the community on there parts. I wouldnt ever go near Megan parts u get what you pay for. Hearing of coils failing from many people. Can you imagine if those motors mounts fail like there coils.

all the negative that has been mentioned is the exact reason i'm nervous about there mounts, last thing I would want is for it to fail. I think I will just go with the STI/TRD mounts.

If I remember correctly they said something along the lines of this.. They carry the Agency Power items to be able to make comparisons of a well designed product to a bad one like Agency Power if its brought up by a customer and if they have questions. Someone who made a comment just like you in a thread and thats what I remember them saying or something close to that. This is a smart move on their part by carrying a variety of items. Just because they carry something doesnt mean they have to use it on there car. Lots of business's have things they wouldnt use that are for sale. They could outright lie and say they would use it on there car but they atleast tell the truth. Like a quick lube shop they sell crap recycled oil but do you honestly think the employees or owner would put that crap in there car? No. They have it for customers who cant afford the better product. |

It's worth noting that on some previous Subaru models Megan Racing just repackaged the Group-N engine mounts and sold them under their own name for cheaper. I don't know if this is the case here or not.

These do not look the same as the group-n mounts, would be super sweet if they were though. I plan on doing a full set when i install my header.
