I really don't care if the car is Toyota, Subaru, or Scion.

My next phase will be a modest power bump, which will certainly be greater than that 5hp mid-cycle refresh. One "advantage" to waiting so long is that the aftermarket feels more mature now-with the best products having survived the test of time and taken market share away from all those half-baked "me too" companies.

Same for me. I've paid off my car. Only thing I want are minor: Leather Seats, Knee Pad Cushions, Dual Climate Controls, I saw on a friend's BRZ they have a small digital screen on the gauge, Trunk Liner, red intake.

I'm happy now since I saved over the years and finally added a turbo. Also gave me time to appreciate NA power.

There will always be something newer or shinier.

Guess it just goes to show how different folks can be (or maybe just how odd I am). I hate leather seats. In fact, in cars where there are more trim levels, I'll go down a level just to avoid them. I would definitely never "upgrade" decent cloth seats to leather.

This would be my 2nd car (only rode motorcycles otherwise) and first time having cloth seats. I believe I prefer leather since it'd be a bit easier to clean as well. My 7 year old cloth seat has some weird sun damage and I use the sunshade every chance I get.

With cloth seats, I have to vacuum but I think if I had leather seats I can brush/wipe. I think I may have to rent one of those wet vacuum cleaners from the hardware store.

Leather is less durable and less comfortable. I would also prefer a good quality fabric/cloth.

Agreed on both counts.

Yeah I always found it weird when people/salesmen count leather seats as a nice “feature” Like no they’re not nice lol I don’t know guess it’s a luxury thing I’ve had leather before and I definitely prefer cloth.

I got shamed into buying a Subaru lmao I was looking at a red FR-S, but ended up with a BRZ. It was a bit more expensive, but it was everything I wanted and more. Plus I get to hang with the Subie boys haha

I really like that mindset. I know there’s so many people who constantly trade-in because they can’t stand not having the latest and greatest. Just a big financial mistake from people who will never be satisfied. I know it’s nice to have the hottest new model, but why change something that doesn’t need to be.

I wish I still had my 2013. It would be paid off and I could start looking into upgrading it. I was really proud to be a launch owner. But when I decided to get one again I initially gravitated towards the 2020 86 GT TRD until I found the 2019 86 TRD used.

The first thing I did the week after I brought it home was to upgrade the head unit with something not crappy that supports Apple CarPlay. For now I will just be happy to be in on again until it’s paid off and the figure out what’s next.

My initial thought was turbo but not sure.
