You've got 3 choices.

Take it to the dealer and tell them to fix it under warranty.
Do nothing and hope it goes away.
Fix it yourself by sourcing ethanol free fuel or adding a dash of 2T.

Yes, they prefer a flag with less strips that blocks the view.

A YES Vote!!
Here is mine. It was AC on, but when I turned AC off, still chirping noise like crazy!

1. Take it in for an oil change. Had mine around 1100 miles and I have not heard it since.
2. Call Kearny Mesa Toyota/Scion and ask for Chuck - he's their Lead Technician. Toyota is working on this issue and soon will issue a TSB.
3. Here's a good site that you can check:

I've got the chirp at about 500 miles now, running Sunoco Ultra 93 gas (10% Ethanol). I probably would not have even noticed it had it not been pointed out here, because my old Miata used to make the exact same noise, and after 30000 miles of hearing it, I'd learned to tune it out!

For comparison, this is a DI engine from a GTI. Mine did this and everyone's that I've seen had it as well. I actually perceived the chirping from the BRZ as normal due to this, but I guess we shall see.

I just hit 450miles and now the chirping started. It usually only happens if I've been driving for 30 minutes or longer. I only run QuickTrip 91 fuel.

For some weird and crazy reason, after my oil change at 7500 miles (I did my own oil change with amsoil 0w30) the chirping is gone... I'll try to listen for it tomorrow... It's been a few days since the oil change.

I think we could start a support group on Facebook just to see how big this really is, I went to my dealer today Beaver Scion of Santa Fe, They were just about to close and my service writer and the sales manager acknowledged that they didn't feel right about the sound. my service writer said they would investigate it when my ECU being replaced on a current TSB came in.
I tried to start a Facebook Group called "2013 BRZ / FRS Cricket Chirp Support Group" but since I have no friends on Facebook that have either car I was unsuccessful. I put a half bottle of the Lucas oil Lucas Oil/5.25 oz. fuel injector cleaner Part Number: 10020 with every fill up (4th tank ) at 1200k so far. Chirp still there. So if we start this we can get out into a more visible media format?

The chirping noise is from the high-speed fuel pump located on the top of the motor. Toyota is aware of the problem. A TSB will be issued in a few weeks . The high-speed fuel pump will be replaced with a modified unit. The pumps are in production and intransit from Japan. When all of the USA warehouses have inventory on the new pump the TSB will be releasd and available for the dealers to order.

How do I know ? I also own a GT86, and have been the parts manager at this dealership for 30 years with a good friend in the powertrain division at TMS Calif.

This is great. Maybe this will solve the issue once and for all.
