New 949Racing 17x8 and 17x9 6UL - Now Available!

Update: IN STOCK AND SHIPPING

949Racing 6UL Wheels available at JacksonRacing.com

We are happy to announce the new 17" 949Racing 6UL wheel is now available through Jackson Racing!

We have been working closely with 949Racing on the FR-S/BRZ fitment to ensure compatibility.

The 17" 6UL is low pressure cast and features a flow formed outer rim for a better strength to weight ratio. A lot of the same great design and style of the extremely popular 15” 6UL was brought over to this all new wheel. We will have 17x8, 17x9, and 17x10 available in the 5x100 bolt pattern.

6UL Features:
• 17x8: 16.1 lbs 17x9: 17.4 lbs
• Low Pressure Cast - Flow Formed - Monoblock Construction
• T6 Heat Treated
• JWL Approved
• VIA Certified 620kg
• 73.1mm Center Bore
• Double Valve Design
• Painted, Clear Coated Finish
• Center Cap Included

Production:

Update 05/29/15: 17x8!
We had some great feedback from the FR-S/BRZ community and decided to add a 17x8 option in with the 17x9 and 17x10. In order for us to do this, 949 Racing had to rework the production schedule a little. We plan on having these available for preorder soon, with the wheels available late summer!

Offsets will be published when we begin taking pre-orders.

We will keep this thread and our website updated with information as it becomes available.

Update 02/14/15:
We had some fun with photoshop today. We used 15" 6UL photos, so ignore the 4 lug.

And for the WRBlue fans out there:

Awesome!

I had two sets of 15x9s for the miata. I'm sure I'll end up with a set of these as well. To bad I'll need some wheels before these will be available.

Any ballpark on price?

Prices and full specs mid March when the dealers begin accepting pre orders. The 6UL in any size, is always priced very competitively.

Offsets TBA when the dealers begin accepting pre-orders. Pricing wise, think RPF1, TSW, not TE37

Oscar will post images of the finish options here in the next day or so. Meanwhile you can see the same available finishes in this post from a Miata forum about 15" 6UL's http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=548814

Once some pics come out of them on the FRS I'll definitely be picking up a set

We'll have some photoshops in the next week or so. Ignore the 4 lugs. Pics of pre-production samples on cars are at least 6 weeks away.

At the risk of dragging this of topic, are there plans to develop any other fr-s/brz parts?

Jackson Racing is deep in development for more 86 parts. Their industry leading Rotex supercharger kit is just the tip of the iceberg. Check out their website. We are working with them to bring 86 specific wheel applications to you.

949 Racing just does wheels. Our SuperMiata line of performance parts is well, just Miatas.

Just out of curiosity, why only the option for 17x9 or 17x10 (as opposed to including a 17x8)? Aren't those widths generally for larger tires (245+)? I know they could fit smaller tires, but would they be optimal then? I've very infrequently come across those that run much larger tires on track, with the excpetion of those pushing more power. Depending on pricing, it would be nice to see another option that's not Enkei....

Narrower and also wider sizes in development.
