One of my personal favorite cars. No BS + V12
They are really tricky. They go from fine to totally not fine so quickly. The FFB is kinda meh in GT7 so it is more difficult to feel what the car is doing. Aren't you on controller?

Yeah, controller user. I turned off that trigger feature tho. That made me drive way worse.

I don't know how you set anything resembling a lap time with controller. That is still crazy to me.

Yeah I don't like the formula cars either. It'll probably be fairly difficult for me to set a Silver time. Especially since I'm not super experienced on that track.
IME the slower the cars are for a TT competition the better chance I have for Golding it.

They just added the Willy's Jeep to the legendary dealer. I keep waiting for that to pop up

BTW I highly recommend swapping the ZR1 engine into the BRZ. It's hell to drive, but you can get it somewhat dialed in on sticky tires. Because of the degree of difficulty from lacking rear traction, it's PP is relatively low.
More or less, it's 750 hp, 2800 lb and 650PP. That's on RH tires. Everything else in that PP range will have 200 less hp, lol.

so I was struggling with that myself, tried chasing the ghost and have it reset at every sector, etc etc. Eventually just decided to turn traction control on (2 or 3, can't remember) and almost immediately went 1-2 seconds a lap faster. Got into silver finally and happy with that

Ah, I didn't try using TC. Spent almost an hour and was still 0.750 short of Silver. Bleh, whatever.
Also I wasn't sure what the best rpm for shifting was in that car. The power curve shown in settings has hp peaking around 10,000 (with a maximum engine speed of 10,500) however the race display tachometer showed red at 9300. It would let you rev up to 10,500 if you wanted to, but trying to drive quickly and then also look at red on red on the tach to determine engine speed was just freaking stupid and annoying. Why does PD have incorrect "redline" displays for so many cars?

I log in yesterday to see someone set a new best time for the SF23 time trial and I was out by 1 tenth of a second. After 17 laps I finally did it, beat my previous time by 4 or 5 tenths. TC was set at 1, I found that to be the best compromise

Alright. Was way too tired to play last night. So the slowest time was with just the parts installed. Only difference is I got slotted rotors and race pads vs the carbon set. I never liked the way the carbon brakes performed in the game despite people saying it's the same as the other brakes. Oh, assumed you were talking about a roll cage when you said chassis stiffening, so I threw on a roll cage.
Also, to me the car "as is" was manageable, and I tuned it to how my driving characteristics are. Give it a try and see how you like it. I also didn't mess with the gearing. That felt fine to me. |
