Musk has referred to the Cybertruck as looking like a futuristic tank like that was the idea.

Tesla Insurance: It might be the most fair insurance ever, and enthusiasts will likely hate it.

The only thing the CyberTruck looks like is Musk needed a design for a meetin in 15 minutes and asked one of his kids to draw a "space truck". And the legend is born.

I don't need a seamless charging experience, I just need for the Tesla network to accept an adapter. That is what Musk would do if he was serious about providing everyone access.

Apparently Ford vehicles will be able to use the Tesla supercharger network soon using an adaptor and they will incorporate the Tesla plug in their vehicles starting in 2025. Ford sells the second most battery electric vehicles next to Tesla.

The fact that we still have multiple charging standards is where ev's are going to fail the most

Not necessarily. We have multiple ICE standards and that seems to work OK.

Musk has done just that by creating an adapter. He made the Magic Dock. Now they are making longer cables to reach different sides of cars for other brands. I don’t know of anyone else building their own network. VW might be the only one. I think Ford is smart to switch to Tesla’s standard and making an adapter on their side to work with other fast chargers.

Depends on how you look at it.
We have Diesel and several grades of gasoline. There are multiple nozzles to split between Diesel and regular fuel. There is also on a limited scale propane and even hydrogen. All these require some level of understanding and flexibility on the part of the consumer, similar to the differences between EV plug standards.

I agree what Ford has done is a good thing for them. As far as Tesla building an infrastructure, they had to do it to sell cars. But, if we hold Musk at his word that he wants to electrify driving regardless of who you buy the car from, then my thought is he should spin the network off as its on independent entity and force it to be "brand neutral" moving forward. That said, I applaud Tesla for recognizing the need and taking the bull by the horns. As far as VW, they didn't really want to build a network, they were pretty much forced into it by their settlement over Dieselgate.

Tesla hasn't even fixed some of the adaptor issues going the other way on their own cars using 3rd party fast charging without updating the charger on the car.
