I am not experiencing this and I am in Texas with the Perrin CAI, but my filter is outside of the hood. I know it gets super hot here which is why I chose this intake.

Both of those, yes. That's not my pic, just one I found off google. I have mine setup a little different. I have a page for "eco" which has an instant MPG graph, avg mpg, fuel % remaining, amount of fuel used (since turning on the app), outside air temp, and distance to empty (often incorrect). Then the other page is like "performance" with tachometer, throttle position, air fuel ratio, air intake temp, voltage, and exhaust temp. You can arrange the dials, graphs and displays pretty much any way you like and you have multiple pages to display them on.

I'll double check it right now and take a screen shot of the phone. That one in the pic is just one I pulled off Google.

I have all of those showing on mine's.

The custom "Fuel Remaining" PID works great too.. VERY accurate (from 0.5 to 12.5 gallons)! I love being able to run my tank almost dry, without worrying I'll run out of fuel.. so I can fill up with E85

How do you get engine oil temp? It doesn't show up on mine. Could be an FR-S/BRZ thing? As far as I know, it can display anything the ECU spits out through the OBDII and engine oil temp is inactive. Just made a quick new page and drove around the block to snap this:

Not sure if 'inactive' is the right word.. the OBDII connector/reader just didn't know "how" to look for it apparently.

But, as usual, our fellow FT-86ers figured it out! http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...300#post588300
You'll have to add a CUSTOM PID to see it though.. PLEASE read post #3 in that link to figure out how to do that.

Thanks to @andreyiv for the Oil temperature PID... and to @developer for the [more] accurate 'Fuel Remaining' PID.

You do realize it will likely be double that, if not more. I assume you mean deg. C? I've posted plenty of graphs for IATs and I intend to test on a mates Injen to prove how bad the heat soak is.

I meant in Fahrenheit, but I really have no idea. I have ordered the Bluetooth adaptor and found a few apps similar to torque for my iphone, so should be able to know for sure pretty soon!

The BT devices only work on Jail broken iOS phones or you'll need a WiFi one (you may already know this so tell me to shut it).

There are some graphs on here when I tested the OEM box without the snorkel. Ambient was 8, best IAT was high 20s and at idle hit 44. That's all celcius. As soon as the snorkel was replaced I've yet to see those temps again. Massive contrast in the way the car felt, started bogging at low RPM and just was generally horrible to drive. Back to stock-ish and all is well again.

Ah crap, didn't know it had to be jailbroken for BT devices! Are you sure? I use several audio BT devices with my iphone... Connects to the stock headunit of course. I will probably just jailbreak it then... Or maybe I'll try to find a cheap Android device that will be dedicated to the torque app.

Interesting that snorkel removal had such a negative effect for the stock box. I didn't really notice a difference with the Injen.

Living in Melbourne we have just gone from summer with temps of 30 - 40c (85 - 105f) to Autumn (Fall) temps of 12 - 20c (55 - 70f) and I am running a stock airbox and snorkel with a perrin drop in and silicon tube. I can definitely feel an improvement in power and responce on the colder days. I don't have data logs or dynos to back this up tho.

How easy, or difficult, is it to install that OBDII sensor in the vehicle? If it isn't too difficult, I might buy that torque app and that adaptor. Is there a DIY?

1. Locate OBDII sensor plug in your car (in the footwell, under the steering wheel, directly back from the gas pedal).
2. Insert OBDII sensor into plug.
3. Pair sensor to phone or device (usually password 0000 or 1234).
4. Use Torque app.

That's all there is to it.
