Wish list

This should be interesting...
Let's assume You had R100,000 to spend on aftermarket bits what would you buy? (About $7400 or so at today's exchange rates).

In no particular order here are some of things I'd love;
Exhaust (headers first, then the rest)
Edelbrock SC
Brakes (maybe just rotors etc, maybe bbk)
Wheels (plenty nice 18" ones out there) + tyres of course.
Front splitter - looks ace
Valenti tail lights (already have these)
Carbon fiber drive shaft
Pulley kit (eg Perrin)
Oil cooler

Problem is this wish list is way more than my imaginary budget ;-)

Get Ferodo DS2500 instead of DS Performance. They are ok for spirited driving at least and fine for daily driving too.

Nice list... but you have not helped me narrow down some options - I think you've just added to my wishlist haha.

On a more serious note, in answer to your question, this is what I'd do...
But I'm a wrinkly, so... whatever

More torque. Not bhp, just torque to get rid of the mid-range RPM slump.
Either a good header and tune, or add ethanol and dual mapping, or a low boost SC.
Many people know a lot more about this than me, but the need is a bit more torque.
I went the SC route.

More tyres. The stock tyres just don't cut the cake.
Well, unless you like making a lot of smoke and noise without going very fast, then enjoy.
If you wanna go fast, get some real tyres.

That probably means some nicer and wider wheels too. Yep, good plan, and they look cool too.
But don't go beyond 17'' unless you like paying a kakhuis full of money for tyres.

Fit crash bolts to get some negative camber up front. (approx -1.5°)
They cost about R100 and will save you a fortune in tyres if you drive enthusiastically.

Change your brake fluid. If you drive with gusto, the stock fluid can kill you.
Dump it, and replace with something like Motul RBF660. Costs about R400 + labour.

Do track days, ideally at a safe track like Red Star or Midvaal, and learn your car's handling at the limit.

Then, unless you've gone the SC route, take your (substantial) change from your R100k, and have a good p*ss-up with your mates and congratulate yourself for having such a cool car for so little money and for being so kleva!!

Considering starting with some brake upgrades, an exhaust and tune.
Then I'll see if I need anything else... tyres and wheels possibly next after that.
Track days are great, but time is an issue at the moment - I also don't like Z generally because they only like going right. Red star doesn't do car days often!
Is Midvaal still so damn bumpy?!

The Z is a dangerous track especially when you mix it with the arrogant M3 brigade on Supertrax days - yeech.
If you go there with an N/A 86, then run in class B - much better.
I have to run class A and it's not fun.

Red Star normally has car days on Wednesdays twice a month, and sometimes there are charity or car club days that you can get into. Give Youlanda a call at RSR and ask her to put you on their SMS notification list. Also, subscribe to Red Star's Facebook page for updates. It's a wonderful, technical, and very safe track for cars.

And yeah, of course Midvaal's still bumpy, but it's a lot better than it was a few years ago. At least there are no potholes like there used to be

I love Midvaal because I enjoy mixing it with the racecars which grows one's experience and skills in leaps and bounds. Still my favourite track.

Here's what Midvaal looks like now (August). Ignore the oil and cement mess. It's very abnormal to have 3 racecars (a Porsche 928, VW Fox and a Supra) empty their sumps on the track in one day - phew! They used 16 pockets of cement to get the track sort of working again...

I'm sure a v1 rocket bunny kit wouldn't cost around R100k after installed ?

It seen kits (I'm assuming these are replicas) on eBay for under $2000

Would be cool to see companies like RACE! Build a few turbo Rocket bunny 86's in SA
